I am a VA employee (VBA) and a Veteran. I logged onto VA gov to check out the status of a claim that I filed on Feb 10 of this year. To my surprise, I saw that there was a FOIA request on there that had an updated status as of Feb 26, but the claim date was Feb 4. I did not submit anything on that date and have not submitted anything other since around July of last year prior to my claim on Feb 10. I am very suspicious of this FOIA request. I am currently going through a divorce that has been pending for approximately 9 months. The spouse has played very dirty, but thus far, nothing has gone her way. She has made outrageous allegations, i.e. that I am a wife-beater, phys…

Hello Vets, I searched but came up empty handed because maybe I am unsure of what the specific name for the letter for self is called. So left/right hip denied but new X-rays show significant wearing of the cartilage. VA expressed in their decision to deny was due to the one visit to DR during service but due to op tempo and being Gung Ho and of course mission first, I dealt with the pain with Motrin. The VA rep in the Pentagon suggested I write a letter of how this injury effected me and what treatment I sought over the years. Can someone point me in the right direction of such a template or examples of what to write in relation to treatment and pain management,…

Hello Brother & Sister Veterans. I have a question that has caused me some concern, every since I finally received all my medical records from the NPRC, addressing when I separated from the Military in 1992. I was directed by an MNRB TO MEB. Diagnosis was :Symptomatic pes planus , condition EPTS , the Doc stated" Due to the pain in both feet, the patient is unable to run, participate in physical training, or stand in formation, and is unable to perform in MOS, in spite of permanent profile given in 1990:. The MEBD form states" permanently aggravated by service." Question is this, if that condition existed, and the documents support a permanently aggravated by se…

Anyone know how to extend the time-out on the MyHealtheVet site. I can barely do one thing on the site, before I have to login again. I use it to refill my prescriptions and to ask my health team questions. Today, I asked a question in messaging and hit send and it disappeared and asked me to login again. I did and my message is no where to be found. Now I have to wait three days for it to "maybe" post. Anyway, any way to delay to automatic log off on MyHealtheVet?? Thanks, Hamslice

So I have a question, I recently applied for a six month lease on an apartment since we are selling our home and it quickly sold and we have to be out by a certain time while we find a new place in a different state. I completed the application for the apartment, paid the fees, submitted my income documents, and then complete the background check. The background check came back delayed. Is there something that could be delaying it, I thought with Apartments all they check is things like employment verification, credit check, tenant history, income verification Etc. I received an email back from one of the apartments Associates in they told me to submit my income documents…

I am a 50% service connected disabled vet, The local ambulance company has taken me to the hospital twice and billed me $200 per trip. I have explained to them that they need to submit a claim to the local billing office. I checked with them and gave them the address and phone number. They ignored this and sicced a collections agency. I have emailed them to create a paper trail and they just blow me off amd tell me to call customer no service....again. I believe they are doing this as a general policy to shake down disabled vets because it's too much trouble to claim from the VA. Who can I contact about this for relief. This is some company in…

Greetings, Thanks in advance for any assistance to my inquiry. I retired on September 30, 2017 and started my claim process in March of this year. On September 6th, I received a (very surprising) check from VACP for $29,680.29. I am currently away from home travelling and only noticed this deposit yesterday. I attempted to log on to EBenefits with no joy. I called the VA. They only said that my claim was not completed yet and they had sent a letter explaining situation. (I have not seen this letter yet) They explained that they could not discuss on the phone and I needed to read the letter. Estimated completion date for my claim is 25 August 2019. Is this a…

I was in the VSO's office today (Florida dept of Vet Affairs) and asked about the 30 day program. VA advertises this as : The Decision Ready Claims (DRC) Program is the fastest way to get your VA claim processed. You can get a decision on your claim in 30 days or less by working with an accredited Veterans Service Organization (VSO) or other accredited representative. At first the Rep had no clue what I was talking about. When he finally broke down and admitted he did, he stated that it was a headache and they did not use it because then they had to coordinate the C&P exams. The whole thing appears to be a joke on Veterans. Anyone have different results …

I have a C&P scheduled for the following conditions, Lumbar Spine (Increase), Cervical Spine (Increase), Left Knee Condition (Increase), Right Knee Condition (Increase), left lower extremity radiculopathy (Increase), right lower extremity radiculopathy (Increase). I currently wear a back brace and braces for both knees. Will I be asked to remove all braces to determine rage of motion or will the examiner let me keep them on??

I have a current rating 90% SC, I just received a rating of 30% SC for PTSD and 30% SC for IBS and of course the needle didn't move, I'm still at 90% but close to 100%. My question is, since my 90% rating didn't change am I eligible for Retroative pay of the new disabilities. Both PTSD and IBS have a back date of 06/2016 the claim was final 10/2017. Please advise Thanks

I got a CCW permit here in Florida because it is just so easy, and the legislature may wake up one day and make it much harder. I want a small pistol or even revolver as a pocket gun. Plus I like to have a full size handgun by my bedside at night. There are just so many choices and I am not so familiar with handguns as with long guns. I have a Remington 870 Marine Magnum 12 gauge for last stand home defense. It kicks like a mule. Shoot fifty rounds through that gun and you won't be able to use you arm for a week. It is the "kill or be killed" weapon I have. This is a much better shotgun that a Mossberg 500 and resists rust from humid climate in Florida where I l…

Greetings to all, For some time, I have sat in the background and monitored selected issues. Well now, I have an issue and am looking for some input based on experience (actually or case), knowledge, and just overall feedback. Current rating is 80%, with the majority being PTSD. Out of the service since the end of 2004. Most recently, diagnosed with sleep apnea six months ago (not overweight), in relatively decent shape. Two weeks ago diagnosed with a Bankhart Lesion (Hills-Sach), right shoulder - Primary Diagnostic Code: MAJOR ABNORMALITY. Regarding the sleep apnea, I know it can you connect to PTSD as secondary. From what I read, you just need a doctor…
