Divorced For A While Then Remarried
I'm 40% service connected....My question is. I was divorced for 1 1/2 and then remarried. During this time I also had three kids after being married one is 5 years old, one is 3 years old, and one is 1 year old. I have totally forgotten to report that I was divorced for that year and a half. I haven't added my kids to my pension. Will that make up for the year and a half that I was divorced or will they still doc my pension. I want to submit my three kids and add them to my pension as dependents and also my new spouse but since so much time has passed. What will the VA do???? Will I get backpay for my dependents? Will I be docked for not adding my wife for a year…

Reopen Claim
I would like to know if anyone has information on reopen claims. I was contacted by the VA via IRIS stating that I can't have two reopen claims at the same time, 'Is this true?" They also stated that they lumped the two reopen clams together and are working on completing the claim, however the claimsare two totally different things, sleep apnea and auto allowance. Also can anyone tell me what the term "loss of use" means and would bone fusion be considered loss of use?

Advice Needed For Eed-john Said "a Bird In Hand?"
Saw a note from John999 somewhere bout Nov 2006 reminding me that once I "win the current strong claim so that you can get IU or 100%. You can worry about an earlier effective date after you start getting your compensation checks rolling in. A bird in hand..." Well, the first check has arrived and now I think its time to get busy. The evidence links back into "the day" I was serving active duty and getting services, at least that is what i belive. I had 2 dedicated VA Dr.s. and a thorough CP exam that helped me achieve current rating. My original application after retirement was list-like, but included 2 of the items I just received a rating for. Truly, these issu…

tdiu Insurance
I was awarded tdiu in 1999 and t&p 2 years later. I have had a va disability since 1963. My question is, is it past the time for me to get the insurance that was possible after I received t&p. I did not know that I could apply for it after a new disability. Also, can anyone tell me if I can apply for insurance thru the goverment now. I am paying over 100.00 a month for 48,000 of life insurance. If I could beat this, I would drop the policy i have had for 25 years. I am 68 years old and in fair shape, I guess, who knows. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

Search Feature
Tbird did a lot of work some time ago to give us this excellent search feature right at the top of the forum page- it says right there it works better than the one down at lower left- you can out SMR, CUE, IMO, whatever into it as well as more detailed words and within seconds all of the posts will pop up that involve what you are searching for. It is not necessary for this to be a pinned topic-this search feature clearly visible right at the top of the forum.

Ammend Any Discrepancy
I have a problem getting this through many veterans heads.....YOU CAN HAVE A VOICE and HAVE THE VA TAKE OUT OR AMMEND ANY DISCREPANCY OR information that may or may not be harmful to your case. How do you accomplish this? I have a letter signed by the Director of the VAMC refusing to do just what you stated. He states in his letter that I objected to everything in the write up of the C&P, but his doctors did not wish to change anything written. You have the find to appeal to the General Council. There is not one shred of these lies in any of my medical records in service or the 44 since service. Things like, " She denies any self - inflicted injuries," "…

hypertension Two Files In Va-nod & Eval(reopening Of File); Have Questions
Hi, Need advice.. I have two files w/ VA @ the moment: 1. NOD for "Hypertension"(from AO long term effect). I was approved 40% SC for "DMII" 2. I also have an Evaluation of service connected disability rating for "Tinnitus" & "Sleep Apnea" I was informed by VARO service rep. that is was okay to submit both claims. Been 3 months now. Questions: >Does NOD have priority over Eval(reopening of my file for SC disability rating)? Called in last week, all they said was both claims are entered in their system. >How can I acquire a more detailed information or status of my claims? Thanks in advance!
