Shady - Angioedema
Folks- I am back online. What a hassle it has been I will put a post on social chat later. Shady sent me a personal message that needs to be addressed. I will catch up on what I missed as I go. Shady, I tried to respond to your message and got an error message. Were you diagnosed with angioedema or were any symptoms of rashes, swelling. allergy, etc noted in your SMR. Your message indicated that they said you had a heriditary form of the disease. This is a coomon error made by many doctors. The only way they can determine if you have the heriditary form is if they do a blood study and you have low levels of C1-esterase. This is a blood protien. See www.…

Imo Per Dept Of Va
After a response from Vike17 on another one of my threads, I decided to do a little research today. He made a statement about me perhaps needing to get an IMO or medical statement from a doctor. Well, it occurred to me that they were obviously two different things. And, according to Department of Veteran Affairs, they are. In fact, a "legitimate" IMO is is obtained through a specified procedure. What has to be the case is that some VARO's are definitely by the book. What some of us have been describing as an IMO and having rejected may be subject to the aforemention. At any rate, the following is what I discovered today and thought I would share it with you guys …

What Exactly Is "new And Material Evidence"
I was denied for several things. I didnt put in a NOD because at the time I didnt understand how any of it worked and the letter I recieved said I needed "new evidence" of which I had none. Several years have passed and I want to reopen my claim. I have recently (in the last year) come to acquire old profiles (24 months worth) listing the same conditions the VA denied me, a statement from my Doc at WRAMC to the med board stating the chronic conditions I have, personal statements from my squad leader, 1st SGT, and CO stating when I got to their unit I was in excellent physical shape and when I was boarded they knew I was being treated at WRAMC for the conditions which …

Where Are Records
After a veteran dies where are the records located, and how do I get them? I just wanted to see how badly the VA treated my husband, and if there is a claim I can file. While he was alive we never knew anything about the claims process, and how we could call them to task. We completely trusted that the vet rep would do his job. It took my husband 10 years to get an increase for his COPD. By the time he got the 100% he died one month later after having been in a nursing home for 6 months. Hadit has been a real eyeopener. Thanks

ptsd New Doctor Said , "file A Complaint"
Good Morning Everyone, Finally, after waiting five long months, Chuckles had his first doctors appointment since our move. The VA Clinic that is now our primary care provider, has 2 doctors and one nurse as well as one nurse for the lab and one family counselor for the mental health clinic and group sessions for mental health and PTSD. We asked, "how many patients does this clinic service"? The doctor replied, did you have a long wait for your appointment?, and then she told us that she and the other doctor supervised the care for between 4,000 and 5,000 patients. And to please feel free to file a complaint. She asked how long we had been waiting for service co…

House Bound & Aid & Attendence
Greetings, In 2005 I was awarded 100% loss of use plus SMC (50%) based on addtional disabilities. No where in the award letter does it state I was awarded House Bound. Should't I had been awarded housebound due to loss of use? in this award letter? I cannot find the CFR on house bound can anyone please give it to me? On page 2 of the award letter it states this, "Please note that this level of SMC equates to the level of needing aid and attendence for activities of daily living plus addtional compensation for additional disabilities independently rated as 50% disabling" What does this mean? I was told by a service officer (Not mind just asked for his opinio…

ptsd Vcaa
Last week I received the first legal VCAA letter and election notice I ever got in 4 1/2 years. It would generate a SC direct death award but it is not the claim that has the most evidence. It is not the award that I want. Free made a good point before when I mentioned how the VA has diverted the main issue- and the main claim-Agent Orange death and the 3 IMOs that VA has never considered. It seems that it all boils down to money- the AO claim involves Nehmer- I am using this VCAA letter to draw out the other claim and will re-send the significant evidence on that- the clinical record does have support for this other claim that I got the VCAA notice on-so will s…
