Anti Depressants And Damage To Kidneys?
I have a question to anyone out there who may know if anti depressants cause any kind of kidney damage. I now have some problems with mine and one doctor has told me I may want to consider not taking one of my anti depressants I am currently on bupropion and zoloft. The thing is when I started going to the VA I was taking no medication and now that I've been taking it I come up with these problems. Its a scenerio of going in with one or two problems and then coming out with like 6 problems.

Finally At The Rating Specialist At The Appeals Management Center
Well, I made my usual telephone call both to the R. O and to The Appeals Management Center. I figure if they are telling the truth, I will get the same story. My claims file went to a " Rating Specialist" last week. I was told that I should hear something within about 3 weeks. Advised if I didn't like the answer, I had the chance to tell them what I didn't like. If It was a grant no need to do anything. As I sit here now going on the 6 th year, I am wondering in the three weeks of waiting, if this is the case. Do I just get a dern gun and shoot my own brains out or sit around and take another beating from the VA. Somewhere it has to stop. One of us…

Do They Even Read Their Own Regs
undiagnosed illness excerpts A qualifying chronic disability means a chronic disability resulting from an undiagnosed illness; medically unexplained chronic multi-symptom illnesses that are defined by a cluster of signs or symptoms such as chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia or irritable bowel syndrome; or any other illness that the Secretary determines warrants a presumption of service connection. 38 C.F.R. § 3.317. In the present case, the evidence of record does not establish that the veteran's gastrointestinal disability constitutes a qualifying chronic disability under 38 C.F.R. § 3.317. Indeed, the veteran does not have an undiagnosed…

Gulf War Veteran
My husband, a 1991 gulf war veteran filed a compensation claim in January of this year. Bi monthly we receive 'generic' letters stating that his claim is being processed. Along with the application we included all the physician reports that we had from his personal doctor. My question is, will they have him go in for a C&P exam or will his private doctors reports be sufficient to rate from? Do they usually schedule a C&P exam in the beginning of the claims process or near the end? We just have no clue what to expect from this whole process. Thanks in advance for any responses!

Strange Phone Conversation With Amc Today
What does it mean when the telephone answer person says "we no longer have a claim pending for you, it has been closed. I need a call back number from you so that a supervisor can call you back." I gave him my phone number. Is this good or bad news? Has anyone ever received a call back from an AMC supervisor? In other words, should I be waiting by the phone for this supervisor to call.

Dro Denial Received
My husband received a denial for service connection of his fibromyalgia on Friday. It states that even though his doctor stated that the fibromyalgia is service connected, he didn't base his opinion on a review of his medical records. Also, he got out of the service in 98 and the fibro wasn't diagnosed until 2005. He is a gulf war veteran and served during the Southwest Asia Theatre. Wouldn't the service connection be granted under the presumptive period? Where do we go from here? I really don't want him to have to wait years for the BVA. The RO said that we could request a hearing. Should he do that? Will they issue a SSOC after that? Also, his gulf war registry exam …

New Twist
Received an IRIS today on my claim and gave me a new twist to my neverending saga at the VA. It stated "Congressional Inquiries usually require a written by the Director. Your file was ready to make the rating decision, but had to be pulled for the congressional response. The management analyst indicated that the file has been sent back to the rating team so the claim process may be continue." Why would they pull it just before making a decision besides delaying a decision on my claim?

tinnitus Input Needed/help
I need your opinions/ experiences on QTC exams. Some time ago I had an appointment at a VA hospital for severe earaches and headaches. I was scheduled for an appointment at the Hospital to see an Otolaryngolygist and an Neurotologist. I was then scheduled for an MRI and a CT scans. The VA doctors are both neurosurgeons, and their qualifications are better than the Civilian Doctors I had previously seen. The Specialist Doctor was an Army Major and Very impressive I might add, diagnosed me with "classic meniers disease" . I did not solicit this diagnosis and was quite surprised at the Diagnosis. I am currently rated at 50% disability for Deafness, Tinnitus, and…
