Any Other Advice With New Increase To 60% (was 20%)
Does anyone have advice on things I need to do now with 60% increased rating? Its been a long haul, nearly 10 years to get these corrected ratings. I credit my Hadit family with helping me keep up the fight, step by step, giving me energy when I thought I had none! Now my basic information: So far, I won't be recieving money, per se, I will only recieve the VA offset, tax free within my retirement pay non-concurrent because of being an early retiree (under 20/TERA). I'll submit my dependents information next week. I was told to request insurance "co-pay" reimebursment from the VA (with other insurance, not sure how it works). The award letter says I am supposed to reci…

Just thought I would give you a quick update on my take of the commission meeting. Janeen subbing for Glenda did an "outstanding job," which gave us 10 minutes in front of the commission. Not much time but I think we got their attention again. It is a shame our VSO’s have not been there at every meeting pounding this stu…

hypertension The Dreaded Four
Greetings It’s been a well since I posted but it nice to be back. Well, I got the dreadful four ailments that I've tried my best to avoid. • Hep-C (20%) I failed three treatment sessions. Recent claim denied for increase. • Hypertension (10%) I take four types of meds for this. • Sleep Apnea (50%) Using CPAC over four years. • Diabetes Mellitus (not rated) just start taking Metformin last week. Question: Can my Diabetes Mellitus be linked to anyone of the other dreadful diseases or all linked to Agent Orange or what? I served 30 years starting in 1969 until 1999. TDY to Thailand 1970 and one day in Nam en-route to Thailand, 1970. I plan on fillin…

hypertension C&p Results
My surgeon said my preop and post op diagnoses of triple bypass - coronary artery disease is: Severe Coronary Artery Disease and angina pectoris. The C&P examinor said my METS were 2-3. Also work, chores, shopping, etc were all severe. And hypertension and CAD most likely caused by DMII. RVN '68 - '69. I am presently 60%. Two heart attacks, one stent replacement (that failed)(on active duty) and triple bypass within a year after being released from active duty. I am working because I have too! Does anyone have an idea if this will be a rate increase? Thanks. Jerry

Claim At Rating Board
Hello from beautiful Colorado! I was advised today via telephone that my disability claim had been forwarded to the rating board on July 31, 2007. Assuming the required exams and documents are intact, what are the timelines with regard to decision, notification to me, and payment of benefits (probably unlikely in my case since I would need a combined rating of 50% or more due to retirement after 23 years service). I wish I had found this site before I started with my claim. You all provide a great service... Thank you.
