Lower Extremities=thighs, Legs, Feet?
I just read a BVA appeal case for SMC that was denied, but the vet's severe back problem affected his legs so that he could not walk. The SMC criteria says "loss or loss of use of a foot." He was denied SMC because he had not lost use of his foot. The explanation was, he had lost use of his legs, not his feet. Does this excerpt about the bilateral factor negate that opinion? From this statement, I infer that "lower extremities as a whole" are thighs, legs, and feet. § 4.26 Bilateral factor. . . . (a) The use of the terms “arms” and “legs” is not intended to distinguish between the arm, forearm and hand, or the thigh, leg, and foot, but relates to the uppe…

New At Seattle Va Hospital
Found on Bulletin board at Seattle VA Hospital, the Compensation and Pension office is being contracted out here In Seattle WA. B) I dont know if it will affect us for the better or not!!! B) Arch I really hate the VARO folks, I have been dealing with them today and last friday. They are "slowing down" I think there is some sort of Job action in Seattle VARO. Perhaps there is a RIF (reduction in force) underway and their attitude reflects their job security feelings. Pardon me but I really hate those folks, their attitude is forshidt Added 2105 100305 Arch

Finding Old Navy Reserve Records
Anyone here know how I can find old Navy Ready Reserve records? I am looking for my records from the time I rotated out of regualr active duty to the Ready Reserves from May 1974 thru May 1978. I got my old Navy records from NARA, but there are no records of my active duty days in the reserves. In particular, I am looking for medical records of an incident where I was seen by our medical Corspman during one of my active duty weekends and sent over to the VA Hospital for treatment.

ptsd Stolen Valor
Berta, In a previous post I had reccomended that every Vet ought to read this book to get an idea of some of the Opinions on Disabled Vets. I must retract that statement. This guy just goes on & on about all the Phony Vets who have been SC. At first it seemed sort of intersting as I was seeing it from a different perspective. Then it got boring & then just dumb. The Author say's he was in Special Forces & can spot a phony right away. Granted, in an Adminstration as big as the VA there has to be some who are drawing Comp. & don't deserve it. But, according to this guy just about everyone of the Vets drawing Co…

Missing From Med Record?
Hello everyone, I had a question and was hoping I could get some answers. I was a helicopter rescueswimmer with the us coast guard. While on active duty I suffered a mild back injury that required a couple visits to a chiropracter to help things along. To make a long story short Im out now and I still suffer from back pain. I recently found out that I could put in a claim for my injury and some other service related injuries. Here is my question though when I received a copy of my medical records there was nothing in there about my back pain and about my referells to the chiropractor. Is this going to be a major problem and If so since the government paid for …

tdiu Individual Unemployability
I would like to ask a question and also would like as much information as I can get about IU, maybe some of you have some sites I could visit to obtain this info, Now the question: On the form I filled out for IU there was a question that asked, "What was the date you became too disabled to work?" I would like to ask if you know why they ask this question, The reason I want to know is because the date I entered was over 2 years ago and I was curious if they pay retro back to that date or if they only pay back to the date I applied? Thank You all for any information. On a different note, I am SC 60% and was wondering if I could apply for Social Security Disabilit…
