The 800 # And Trying To Track Your Claim
I borrowed this from elsewhere to help members understand why you and VBA really can't accurately track the status of claims with either the 800 number or Iris. I am posting it for informational purposes only and closing it to comment. This was authored by cruiser. "you guys shouldn't be trying to track your claims as they move around the Regional Office like you would track a UPS package. It doesn't work that way. A claim at VA doesn't necessarily move in a linear fashion like a package does nor does simply knowing where a claim is at a given point in time tell you why it is at that location or where it is going next. VA personnel are supposed to scan…

ptsd Sleep Apnea
SOme back ground on me: I'm curious about finding out if I have sleep apnea. I have PTSD/HTN and would consider myself obese. I have been told by plenty of friends/family that my snoring is so loud that they can hear me through the floor/walls/other side of the house. I never thought I had it before coming home from Iraq in 2005. I have gained well over 150 lbs as well. My snoring is from my mouth being open I think, not sure. I have tons of sleep issues with nightmares and other ailments (shoulders). I hardly ever feel "rested". My questions are: How do you go about requesting a sleep study to either rule out sleep apnea or diagnose it (OSA)? What happens at a …

diabetes Thanks For Your Input
My DMII was 20% compliant, now on Lantz since Sept of 2009 New instructions to restrict diet, activities. I have 10%hearing, 10%tinnitus. Va has acknowledge HBP is aggravated by diabetes with 0% rating because(The preaggravation of % of 10% disabling was deducted from the current % of 10% disabling before assigning service-connection eval of 0%) What the heck is this? If I had enough hair I'd pull it out! Taking 4 HBP medications, when is enough? I guess I have to stroke out! PCP wants bp at 120/70. At neuropathy exam bp was 163/80. Update On My Ao Prostate Cancer Claim!
It must be 3 or 4 months since I posted any status. Almost 8 months to the day, I found out, as of Feb. 10, 2010 my claim is sitting in the VA rating team. Pretty darn slow, I think, for a presumptive condition. I had my C&P exam last Sept 1. Over that time, they requested documentation from me, that they already had, at least twice. I would now hope that it will only take a week or two more for it to be completed. Summary of my Prostate Cancer condition: Diagnosed June 2000. PSA 26.2. Prostate removed Aug. 2000 Cancer returned 2004. Radiation treatments to remove at that time. Damage to colon from radiation resulted in more residuals from the Prostate…

Vietnam War
http://www.cc.gatech.edu/fac/Thomas.Pilsch/Vietnam.html This excellent link was possibly posted here before but Carol Olzanecki (who has been so instrumental in getting many many HR 2254 sponsors) has sent it to me to post here again. Lots and lots of info that could possibly help Vietnam vets with their claims.

Great C&p Exam
I had my C&P exam yesterday and I'm left feeling very hopeful. My exam lasted about 1-1/2 hours. The doctor said she had no doubt that the onset of my MS occurred in service. She told me that she would get her report to the RO the same day so I could get what I need. I am very pleased with the outcome. Now to see what the RO does. Thanks so much for all of the advice.
