hypertension Direct Service Connection?
I'm 30% disabled. 20% for left knee surgery for a bipartite patella and lateral release and 10% for hypertension. Was active duty Air Force for four years in which time I had a hernia repair surgery and was diagnosed with fallen arches. No claim was ever made for disability in the Air Force. Three years after discharge from the Air Force I joined the Army and was medically discharged after five years for the health reasons stated above. I have since been diagnosed by the VA with spondylosis and severe carpel tunnel syndrome as I have been having back problems such as numbness, tingling, and muscle spasms in my right arm and shoulder for several years now. Last month I had…

Hi. I'm New..need Assistance For Husband
Hi. I'm new. My husband is getting the run around from the Army. He's still active duty and was sent home from his 3rd Iraq tour with expected Parkinsons in 10/07. Finally, in late 08 he was diagnosed with Parkinsons. He is an 18 yr. active duty and was a GW vet. Went through the MEB and they came back with their 'offer'. NOT COMBAT RELATED, 30%. His symptoms started in 2001, but were really mild and no neuro could do anything. We're appealing and are building our case. Any assistance is appreciated. This week we're at the Mayo Clinic and will be back at Ft. Bragg by Friday. We have maybe a week before our appeal has to be filled. HELP! Thank you.

Finally Received My Military Personnel Records
I finally received my military personnel records. After a quick review, I found that it was just a copy of the contents of my 201 file. It also had my DD214, copies of awards, but contained no content specific to any of my units. Is that normal? I did some digging and a couple of my units were shut down. I know there may be retention periods for certain documents, but was hoping to get copies of training records, PT tests, counseling statements from when I was young and stupid, etc...

Personnel Records And Medical Records
I was using a search engine to search CG veterans info and I saw The National Archives.gov to get copies of your personnel records. Is this necessary or is your health records the ones you need? Do most people here on this site have both?? If I need both, what would be the advantage and possibly a scenario where it would be beneficial. According to the NatArch site you will not be given all the content of Service Records, just important stuff, no leave records, clothing issues,ID card applications, etc... Thanks

"authorization"
Contacted the VA by IRIS today to check what is going on with my claims. Was told that they are in the "authorization" stage. Does anyone know what this means, since the VA won't give up any info into what this means. Thank you, Bergie

Copd Service Connect
i have a question;I have copd, it appeares on my retirement physical as a loss in lung capacity,ie;.81% from the 100% that was on my enlistment physical, you know every one is perfect on entry to the military!!! . Ineffect I lost 19% of lung capacity during my 22year career. The retirement phy. was documented on a breathing test, but not mentioned on the outgoing physical paperwork because loss was not out of tolerance(below 80% it would have been mentioned)Eight years later Bingo the lung cap. is now out of tolerance. Vbm
I have been so busy I forgot to post this recent statement at the NVLSP web site- I have used the VBM since 1991 and cannot imagine being here at hadit without it on my PC desk-it helped me win all of my claims. This is a great honor for NVLSP and most importantly- if you have the VBM you can use any citations from it regarding the legal nuances of VA case law and regulations.I havent read Holton yet but recently I quoted NVLSP's Nehmer decision to the OGC who then quoted Nehmer to the RO -in writing and for the first time in 8 months the VA began to apply Nehmer to my claim. The RO refused to acknowledge my numerous requests submissions of this important case asking…

hypertension Help With Reevaluation
I currently receive 30% disability. 20% for two knee operations and 10% for hypertension. I have been diagnosed with Lumbar Spondlyosis through the VA and I had cervical fusion for a herniated disk in my cervical spine on New Years Eve of this year. I had this surgery done in Myrtle Beach due to the fact that I could not drive, much less ride to Charleston which is 90 miles away. I was in two branches of the service. Air Force from 87-91 and Army from 94-2000. I had a hernia repair and was diagnosed with falling arches in the Air Force but I was never rated for any of those conditions, only rated for disabilities in the Army. I am lost and could use some help on what, if …
