Trying To Find A Doctor...
Sigh. After many recommendations from the friendly folks here, and our own "had it" moments with the VA docs, we decided to bite the bullet and really start looking for a doctor who will take care of us and write the letters we need for the VA. So far... 2 out of 3 that I've called aren't taking patients. The 3rd one's office person said she'd need to take all my information and submit it to the office manager for approval before she could make an appointment. I said before I waste a bunch of her time, I wanted to ask whether the doctor (well established family practice guy) would write letters if requested. She got all bunch and said she didn't know the answer t…

C-file Requests
In October, I requested a copy of my C-File from my RO. In November, I received a letter saying they are working on my request. Last Friday, I sent an IRIS request asking for a date when I will receive my C-File. It has been a week, but still no response at all. This is eating into my appeal time... When I went to the RO in October, I talked with one of the guys there. He said, "I'm not supposed to tell you this, but you can always contact your U.S. Congressman and they can speed things up." Should I send another IRIS request? Should I contact my U.S. Congressman? What's the best recommended course of action?

Free Federal Park Pass
Off subject but. People that visit National Parks may want to check this out. Not sure I understand it. Sounds like a cut back for disabled people and seniors. Maybe some of you can explain it. http://www.modbee.com/breakingnews/story/1002007.html

ptsd Nod On Eed
Hi all, I am wondering about NOD's on EED. I am 100% T&P ( recently got the decision ) going back to 2006, the date of most recent claim; 50% PTSD. I had filed a claim for IU/TDIU with the same symptoms that the VA used in determining that I had PTSD back in 1996, but wasn't diagnosed with PTSD at the time, just exhibited all of the symptoms. I was denied any SC for any psych. problems for that claim in 1996. Would it be possible / realistic to get my EED and award back to 1996? My stressor was back in 1984, and I showed treatment of PTSD symptoms since the event. My wife thinks I should let it go, but I think if I have a reasonable chance of getting th…

Va Taking Money Out Of Your Bank Account Question
Just how far is the VA's reach into your banking? I know I've read about the VA taking money out of the account that they put the money into and it seems that years ago Free Spirit** wrote in a post that the VA took money out of another account that she had at the same bank that her husband's VA payments went to even though the husband was not on that account. 1. Has anyone else had the VA take money out of their account? 2. How about another account at the same bank that is NOT the one their VA check goes into? 3. Has the VA ever gone into accounts held in another bank where they do NOT deposit your VA check? 4. If not yourself, had you heard firsthand…

Not Sure The Best Place To Post This So....
I am a disabled veteran, after waiting almost 2 years to get my first rating of 30%, I used the services of the VFW to help in getting 100%, though not total and permanent. I was told at this time that 2 years from this 100% designation I would get a review and if my condition had not changed I would most likely be given the total and permanent so that my wife and children would have medical coverage. Shortly before the 2 year mark we moved involving a change in VA regions and because of this my 2 year review was pushed back 5 months. During this time I was having issued having my medications delivered to my home as they always had been, my records went missing, vario…

ptsd I Need Help!
Hi I am not sure where else I can possibly turn, but I know I need help. My Fiancee was deployed for 15 months from Aug 06'-Nov 07'. He got out over a yr ago in Sept. 08'. He has been suffering badly from PTSD, he feels worthless, he's very cold, can't make up his mind, generally he just doesn't seem very happy. He does everything alone.. bike riding, fishing, hunting etc. It breaks my heart because I know who he was before war. Well recently for the first time in 2 yrs he's been looking up, he starts school in Jan, he knows what he wants to do for a living, he's finally talking about kids/family and everything has been going pretty well, until last Wed. when he rec…

Defered In 2008 And Don't Know What To Do!
On a C/P exam I gues I mentioned that with all the surgeries and all the meds for my back I had a few problems with depression and other ites I care not to mention here or any where. But now I plan on see a VA Mental Health Doc for depression. I am 50 present SC at present for Lower back and other smaller items, making a combinded rating of 70% SC. What happens to the defered things. Do I submit other documentation or does the VA just sit on these items. or do they just go away? The actual statment reads" The issue of compensation for mental disorder is deferred for the following information Results of VA examination and due process notification" Does this mean I need to …

Help
First, let me apologize for the length of this post, but to me I'm in a confusing situation. I need some advice. I’ve been reading postings on this website for about 18 months and it has helped me to be knowledgeable to a great degree on dealing with the VA. I received a rating of 40% in August 2008. It included 20% Degenerative Disc Disease, post operative (I have had a double ANCF C4-5 in Feb 2007 and a double discectomy at the same level with mass lateral screw fixation in June 2008); 20% Left radial nerve dysfunction post-op; and 10% posterior neck scar, post-op.. This resulted from a worsening neck and left arm condition since an accident during Airborne Trainin…
