Question About Cholesterol And Heart Conditions
I have a question on behalf of my boyfriend. When he was in the Army 15 years or so ago, he was diagnosed with high cholesterol, and given a minimum dose of a statin. When he got out, he was told cholesterol was hereditary and he didn't qualify for VA compensation. Since then, however, he's had two heart attacks, and the doctors have told him that inadequate treatment of his cholesterol problem when it was found are likely responsible. I'm trying to find out if that would qualify him for VA benefits or not? Is there a way to find out? You guys are always so smart here I figured I'd ask. =) Thanks! Shalia

Search Appeal Decisions
How can I search my appeal that was approved? I have the docket number, but it does not bring up my appeal, it is someone else completely. Is there a way you can look up appeal results by veteran name or social security number?

The cartilage over the posterior tibia is eroded. No other change seen in the cartilage or bone. A small bone cyst seen in the distal medial anterior femur of no clinical significance. No …

"more Bad News From The Vba"
Veterans for common sense has the article. The VA keeps promising to get the payments out, and keeps failing to deliver its promises. I hope some of the Student Veterans get mad because they are being treated like Vietnam Veterans...their claim goes to the bottom of the pile. http://www.veteransforcommonsense.org/inde...543-kim-hefling

Is This Sop
I was talking to the VA contact I have who handles Nehmer Retro payments in Philadelphia. My request for retro under Nehmer was sent to the C & P EFCCLL division in November at VACO in Washington DC but due to the fact that attorney for OGC who is handling my FTCA offset refund is also a expert on Nehmer -I was trying to find out if this OGC attorney in fact was handling the Nehmer retro claim as well and I had sent the lawyer email but understand he is off this week from work. The AO VA Nehmer man pulled up my claim screen and found that -not only were the files back at Buffalo RO from DC but they had made an award. The amount was an odd amount as well as the r…

Organizing Records
Hello everyone, I have copies of my service medical records, (most of my) private treatment records, and what I believe to be all of my VA treatment records. I am trying to sort these things out as effectively as possible. Suggestions welcomed! If someone has a better system, please share it! - Create separate folders/binders for each condition (back, foot, etc...) - Separate administrative items (shipping receipts, etc...) from actual treatment records - Copy pages with multiple conditions and file an individual copy in each folder - Check the back of every page and copy pages with multiple conditions and file an individual copy in each folder - Anything (no…
