Jerked Around By The Va Or Just Bad Luck?
just got home from from the VA Emergency Room for the second time in two days, and wanted to write all of this down while it was still in memory, along with a little bit of history. i'm going in order here of what happened, so i am sorry if this is so long and clumped together, but tonight, i am loaded up on a lot of IV steroids, two morphine shots, 3 breathing treatments, 2 shots of something for nausea, and a lot of albuterol puffs. i had a really crappy last 3 days. Warning - some of this is really gross. i'm being straight up and honest about how i feel and what i experienced. It was AWFUL! Day before yesterday About 10 days ago, VA primary doc raises me t…

Time To Be Thankful
i was recently admitted in the va for treatment for about a week to get my meds straightened out and to get my feet back on the ground. i was on the psychiatric ward and was shocked after talking to the vets there at the number who were homeless. when they were to be discharged they had no home to go to. one guy was living in his truck, and had no gas money. before i left i gave what i had to them ,and i will say the v.a. hospital was as kind as they could be,and some of them were admitted for a longer stay on the accohol and drug ward. but there were people waiting in line to get in with nowhere to live and the stay is very short term about a week to two weeks. …

Thin Skinned People Should Not Read.
When I joined Hadit in '05 there were no moderaters. I was very unhappy with the Va system to put it mildly. Thankfully, I was allowed to vent my frustrations and learn how to deal with the VA. I was not allowed to do so on another claims site, I didn't go back. Today, when I open the VA Claims Research page here at Hadit, there are no less than six closed topics on the first page. I had not posted a comment to any of them but it pains me to see them closed. Why would it bother me when I did not have an opinion to share? Because I come here to help veterans. It helped me a great deal to be able to vent my frustrations. While there have always been those that may disagr…

Va Compensation/pension Medical Worksheets
I am about to go to my VA Medical exams. I found the following link to be very useful: http://www.vba.va.gov/bln/21/Benefits/exams/index.htm I am curious though, how much does my Army retirement physical taken last month play in the exams? I have multiple conditions which I did list on the physical as well as a ream of paper for medical documents, all of which have been copied and turned into the VA.

lumbosacral Lumbar C&p
First off, thank you for all you guys do here. I have been reading on here for weeks now and found a tremendous amount of knowledge. I finished my last C&P exam last week (this is my first time applying). I received a copy of my exams today. One claim is for back pain due to a fractured vertebrae from my last (3rd) trip to Iraq. The following are the findings on the report: **************** Report: Lumbosacral Spine - Three views demonstrate mild scoliosis to the left. There is mild anterolisthesis of L4 secondary to pars defect probably bilaterally. There is also supected pars defect of L3. There is minimal narrowing of L3-L4 and L4-L5 disc spaces. Ther…

Can You Sue Your Service Organization For Mistakes.
I wanted to know if anyone ever tried to sue their service organization for gross errors in handling their claims. For example, if the service representative in charge (ie DVA, PVA, Am Leg.) failed to file paperwork perfecting a claim for benefits that the VA should have granted, is the service organization open to lawsuits for the gross neglegence of that employee's failings caused the vet to lose @ 75K in back benefits?

Does Anyone Have A Reference Limiting Cue To One Time?
I read that in filing a CUE a Veteran has only "one shot" to get it right, or forever be barred from filing a Cue again. Does that apply to a single decision? What if that decision has multiple issues, and there were multiple CUE violations? What about "unadjucated" issues, that is, what if a decision failed to address an issue at all, so the Veteran was unaware the decision was "deemed denied"? I just realized this "deemed denial" thing opened up a can of worms with Cue. In case you are not up to speed a "deemed denial" means if you apply for 3 issues, and the VA issues a decision on just one, the other two are "deemed denied" and the one year appeal clock st…
