Vsr Called
I received a call and I thought it was from the DAV rep that is processing my claims. They asked me if I would like to file a claim for some of the conditions that I wrote on my Statment in Support of Claim Form for IU. I said I wasn't sure and they said that I should do it. This person was a young girl and I thought she worked for the DAV. I said I have some medical records the the VA never received from the hospital when I had a procedure. She said mail them to her and I said I would drive them up to the office. I went up there and checked into the deck where you can see the different groups that represent vet. I asked for the person I talked to on the phone from the …

Imo For A Dro Hearing
I don't really know that i am looking for an answer since there isn't a cut and dried answer. this is more on the order of putting my experience out there and others can compare and contrast with their own experiences and maybe figure what's coming down the pike for them if and when the time comes. I called numerous Chiropractors and they wanted to do the full treatment or kiss off with the documentation and write a letter in the proper form. afte numerous calls, i found a nurse at Carolina Spine and Nuerology in Asheville that was kind enough to have me gather the MRI discs, SMR's..... and said she would take care of it. I printed a page from the Bash site to give …

Supraventricular Tachycardia (heart Arrhythmia)
I originally posted this in the C&P forum; for some reason, as soon as I logged in this entire category (General VA Claims...) disappeared. Anyway, I think this is the most appropriate venue, so I have reposted it here. 90% SC overall (94% to be precise). The good news: heart arrhythmia is SC. SMR state symptoms "consistent with SVT". Two C&P exams verify heart arrhythmia as does SMR documenting several episodes that I acutually went to the doctor for over a 3+ year period, as well as statements to docs at time describing the ones I didn't go to the doctor for. Generally, 6 or more episodes per year of heart arryhthmia. Bad news: never captured on ECG …

Earlier Effective Date Question
I have just been denied an earlier effective. Briefly I went to the AL VSO in Aug 2006 and filed my claim they never submitted it finally I sent another claim in direct to the VA Jan 2007 and was just granted disability back to Jan 2007 and denied the earlier date. VA said they had no record of receiving a claim before Feb 2007. I have been going over my records I have three emails I sent to IRIS Sep 2006 Oct 2006 and Dec 2006 asking about my claim. basically they said it was never received which it wasnt because of a lousy VSO. My question does my email requesting information on my claim constitute a Informal Claim since I technically notified the VA about my claim.…

Question On 1978 Rating Decision
Nov 15,1978 - Rating Decision Dear Mrs. XXXX Your disability compensation claim has been carefully considered. To establish entitlement to this benefit, the evidence must show; (a) that you have a disability incurred or aggravated in service, in the line of duty; and (b) must be 10 percent or more disabling. Question: Was it actually a reg in 1978 that the condition had to be 10 percent or more disabling to recieve service connection ? What about a zero percent rating ? I know that we now have: § 4.31 Zero percent evaluations. In every instance where the schedule does not provide a zero percent evaluation for a diagnostic code, a zero percent…

Autonomic Neuropathy
Is autonomic neuropathy a separate rateable condition? I am rated 20% for dm2 and 10% for each limb for peripheral neuropathy. My doc just told me that I probably have autonomic neuropathy, caused by my Dm2. She also said that the autonomic neuropathy more than likely caused my GERD. I have an appointment with a C&P doc tomorrow for a re-evaluation of all of my SC disabilities and I would like to hit him with this. If it is covered under my limb PN, then I won't waste the time. Thanks all! Ric

tinnitus Question On Informal Claim From 1978 C&p
This is a C&P examination done four months after separation in 1978. (Claimants having C&P's now should get a good laugh at C&P's from the 1970's.) Question : Would Tinnitus alleged be considered an informal claim for Tinnitus, being that it is noted on the C&P examination. FYI - this C&P was ordered as the result of a claim for Otitis Media and Hearing Loss. Also - I believe the reg for Tinnitus (at the time of this 1978 C&P) read something close to Tinnitus had to be the result of a head injury. Also - this C&P examiner stated that I was taking Parafon Forte and that this RX is an anti-depressant. Parafon Forte was RX'd to m…

C&p Exam Today On 4 Year Old Appeal!
I had my C&P exam for a 4 year old appeal today on my joints. The doctor gave me severe on all questions pertaining to my knees. I am still puzzled on how they will rate this because I had two surgeries on my knee in the past two years. Are they going to look at my condition in it's present state or are they going to look at the fact that my condition was so bad that I needed surgery? I am confused.

Is It Me Or Is The Va Granting More Claims But Are Really Putting It To Vets
I wonder what is going on with this, I know of several ciams where the claim was granted but the ED was all screwed up. They are trying to give a Vet an increase on his original claim but it was bease off of a NOD and was in the appeal stage? Go figure. J

Fact Or Fiction
Someone has posted on 8 vet sites that the VA is going to put Parkinson's on the AO list. Their source was a vet rep in Missouri- I see nothing yet at the VA web site or in their media releases on this and the IOM report was not all that strong on the Parkinson's link. Vet advocates have done tremendous work to get Parkinsons on the presumptive list- but as soon as I read this (veteransinfo site-Steve Burns) I remembered when the El PAso News had a story 2 years ago that VA would SC HBP to AO. I called the reporter and after a few more calls and emails I found that I not only knew the rep who started this erroneous news but that it had gone out to many web si…
