Argggg I Dont Believe This. Oh So Close Now So Far.
I just happened to recieve a call last week to go into my local VA and speak with my PCP. I was thinking that this is a normal yearly check up. Lo and behold I am referred to another PCP due to my previous starting his own practice. I was notified that I have yet another Orthopedic eval In September. Yep folks looks like phase one of my shoulder (both) surgery will be proceding in the next month or two. The frustrating thing is that it just went back into review about 2 weeks ago. The other frustrating thing is that I can GUARANTEE that now my claim will really be delayed. Here I was thinking that I was seeing that green rainbow and now its moving further away. Th…

hypertension Glaucoma Secondary To Dmii
Husband just received a decision granting glaucoma as secondary to his DMII, noncompensable. It says VA exam clarification is needed to fully evaluate this condition. Upon receipt of this evidence this evaluation will be reconsidered. A noncompensable evaluation is assigned unless there is a significant impairment of vision. He had a C&P eye exam. He's been seeing a private opthalmologist for his glaucoma and must use drops everyday to control it. He doesn't have significant vision loss so far. We read in the schedule of ratings for 6013 Open-Angle glaucoma that the minimum evaluation if continuous medication required is 10%. Does anyone know about this? He was gra…

Subject: [VeteranIssues] Agent Orange was leaking in April 1972 on Johnston Island. FW: In Memory, My Health, Our Day in VA Appeals CourtDate: May 30, 2011 10:41 AM From: Paul E. Travis [mailto:poppy0200@hotmail.com] Sent: Monday, May 30, 2011 12:32 PM Subject: In Memory, My Health, Our Day in VA Appeals Court Importance: High We probably all know someone in the Military that gave the Ultimate Sacrifice for our Country. Just Got Proposed Rating! Need Advice Fast!
I'm still active with 18 1/2 years time of service. I just recieved my MEB/VA decision a few minutes ago; AF/DOD - 30% PERMANENT RETIRMENT (not marked as combat related) VA - PROPOSED 90% (the % are in my sig block) What do I do/what would you do? Do i fight this? I'm really happy with the 90%, but i am not over 20 years time in service so i dont think i will get concurrent reciept? Even with the full/permanent retirement, I sill wont collect both. Or will I? I have 10 days to turn in the paper work, all suggestions and reccomendations are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Where Is My Cola?
I have contacted just about everyone I could and yet I have no idea why I haven't received my COLA for 2012. I talked with someone today and they told me that they have received my claim for COLA increase and they will handle it expeditiously. I asked why is it being treat as a claim when COLA is just a raise in what you received. Was told it is always handled as a claim. It is very sad that it would take this long to receive what everyone else is enjoying. Anyone out there, Have you had this problem before?

Received Award Letter 1 Year Ago Today
One year ago today (26 July, 2011) a big brown envelope from the VA arrived stating I was found to be 80% service connected and would receive $x,xxx per month. I thought great, I need the money and while I am working, it is getting difficult and I could use the financial assistance. I waited a few months and never received anything so I called and was told to be patient, sometimes it takes a few months, so I waited. 3 or 4 more months passed, again no money so I called again and was told the same thing, so I waited. Another 3 or 4 months passed and I called again, Peggy told me she had never seen anything like this and would get to the bottom of it. I called last week, sa…

Good But Somewhat Puzzling Info From My Ro About Protected Rating.
I received an answer today to a question I sent to my RO regarding the status of my rating being protected. I had a 50% rating that was in effect since 1976, which I didn't know I had. I never received compensation for it. I applied for benifits in July 2011. I had a C&P for same condition in May 2012. I was rated 70% for same condition & awarded retro back to July 2011. The answer to my question about my rating was that the 50% is protected & no further exams will be scheduled for the 70% rating. How could my 50% rating be in effect & protected according to them since 1976, yet they don't owe me compensation back to 1976. Very puzzling.

ptsd Ptsd Claim Comes Back Anxiety
The C&P examiner made up a different version of MY combat stressor. I apparently showed up the next day by myself and guarded people that weren't there. I got a 30% Anxiety award. I keep seeing this over again in my psychotherapy notes. My words are taken out of context or a arranged in a negative light. I feel like I'm being messed with for shits gigs.. My Active Duty Medical records were done this way and I leave the Army with 0% all EPS. This is a big stressor for me and it is a reason mental health is no longer a medical asset for me. I have problems with this and I don't see how to fix a genuine disdain of seeking mental health treatment. It feels like 2…
