Ssd, Getting You Started On Your Research
I have a website entitled howtoassemblevaclaims.com. It is intended to guide veterans/dependents in researching, organizing and assembling a va claim/appeal. Can I Change my onset date for SSDI?
Yes, you can "amend" (change) your original AOD to a different date. In fact, disability lawyers often advise their clients to agree to an amended onset date in exchange for a fully favorable decision (an approval) from an administrative law judge. I’m 63.5 collecting ssdi for 6 years I want to work part time but don’t want to participate in ticket to work If I am under the 1430 sga amount will ssa leave me alone if I report the work and the money made or will there be repercussions from employment I make 1690 a month and this economy is forcing me to even consider working as we all must be experiencing

SSDI - Reconsideration Phase
Hi, I’m going through the appeal/reconsideration process now (filed 8/23/23) on step 3 of 5 as I was denied on my initial filing in which I filled 9/16/2022). Just to give you a brief medical background, I have depression, PTSD, anxiety, insomnia, hypersomnia, sleep apnea w/CPAP, migraines, headaches, tinnitus, cubital tunnel syndrome in both arms, and I am going through the process now with my Orthopedic doctor to diagnose cervical spine and neck pain and stiffness. I am a disabled veteran rated at 90% currently going through the process of being rated at 100%. It looks like I will be going the TDIU (Total Disability Individual Unemployability) route as I have not worked…

I just filled out the online application for SSDI. There was no place or question regards my VA disability rating of 100% and being P&T. So, I just copied and pasted my P&T awards summary into the last comment text block. SSDI dependents one turned 18
Good day. Have a quick question. I received SSDi, I have two dependents one just turned 18 on April 6 and does not live with me he was reciecing 1/2 of my half while my daughter who does live with me was getting the other half. Do I need to contact SSDI office to restore my daughter's full 1/2 or is it automatic. Seeing they have not done the are you alive letters in a few years

My anxiety prevents me from using the phone. What can I do?
I keep being told i need to make a phone call. People keep giving me a call back, but I can't pick up. I have been even having issues since the pandemic started because I cannot use telehealth. Seems like nobody understands. So I am damn near giving up. I am also technically homeless, due to always being in fear, I have to keep moving. I am rated 100 by the VA. I just wish I could email someone, but I keep seeing that legally I have to talk on the phone. I can't. This has been very hard. I don't mind going to an SSA office, I just am never put. I have recently been raised up to 100% P & T for VA disability. How do I find out about applying for Social Security? Is there any source where I can learn about it, from being in my situation? I don't know ANYTHING about it. Please help!

Knowledgeable people who don’t have time to read all posts may skip yours if your need isn’t clear in the title. I don’t read all posts every login and will gravitate towards those I have more info on. Use paragraphs instead of one massive, rambling introduction or story.
Again – Make it easy for others to help. If your question is buried in a monster paragraph, there are fewer who will investigate to dig it out.
How To Post
Post a clear title like
‘Need help preparing PTSD claim’ or “VA med center won’t schedule my surgery” instead of ‘I have a question."
This gives members a starting point to ask clarifying questions like “Can you post the Reasons for Denial of your claim?”
