My County Tax Accessors Office says this doesn't apply to me. In Nov 2011 the VA adjudicated me to be SC at 100 percent P&T with an effective date of 2004. Read this article and see if it may apply to you. I have emailed Florida's Gov. on this. I have to admit that I did not do much research on this opportunity, but it did come to me from a different Veterans Benefits web site, and I think there may be one or two or more on this site who could/would take advantage of such an opportunity. Overall summary, is that if you are unemployed, and looking for some retraining, but can not afford the cost of changing courses, then you may be interested in reading/pursuing more: http://benefits.va.gov/vow/education.htm I am also attaching the wording of the VA Notification so you can decide if you want to pursue this link and the advertised benefits on your own. I assume that I personally do not qualify for this be…

Florida is pretty generous in their benefits to veterans, especially those with 100% total and permanent status. No taxes on your homesteaded property for 100%. Free DAV License tag. Rated 10%, you get a $5,000 property tax exemption. If over 65, you get whatever percentage rating you have as a tax exemption. You do not pay for notary fees, any permitting fees, occupational fees, etc. Check their benefits out today.

I think I already know the answer to this but my wife wants me to ask. DHL took 2 of my grandsons away from one of my daughters. we have had them for years or so as foster parents. The state sends a check for their upkeep. Currently as 100% P&T my wife is my only dependent. Do foster kids count as dependents for VA Disability?

I've attached a flier for free counseling services to Veterans and their family members, sponsored by the Texas Veterans Commission and the Burke Center. This particular counseling is begin offered to Veterans and their families, located primarily in the East Texas area, but it's quite possible that Veterans in other parts of Texas may also have similar programs available to them. I haven't used these services yet, so can't qualify the value or quality, but they are being offered free of charge, and might help somebody in need. Mark MHMR East Texas Area Free Counseling.pdf

I am writing to inform you that I was quite surprise to learn that only the upper management at the (AMC) regional office Washington DC only had copies of this document, and no one else did not have this particular document fast letter 08-24, it is a letter that is in house memorandum that veterans with pending case that are eight years or older, or any condition that would involve a lump-sum payment over 250K and there is a final decision, they would be red flag at the final decision. The signal on the red flag is "250K RETRO REVIEW" via the VETSNET participant profile application that is internal procedure with extraordinary awards will be promulgated. After sending you…

My youngest brother had a massive heart attack last night and died. He is from Kentucky and was a Veteran. He had no insurance, and I would like to know if the state of Kentucky has a program to help Veterans. I know that the VA pays very little. He was also disabled, but he just did not want to deal with the VA. Any advice would be appreciated. Papa

I went to VA today and saw my PCP someone I have learned to trust and feel that she has my better interests at heart. We discussed several issues including she consulted for new diabetic shoes. I got 2 pair a brown and a black. I asked when I got them if the VA also provided socks and the answer was if Doc orders they do. I also asked about something to help me put the socks on and they said I could get an aid that you pulled the sock over and stepped in and than removed and sock was on. Once again Doc has to order it but they are provided. My VA is trying to pair u veterans with in house specialists to help Veterans do better with meds and other issues. They have a no…
