ptsd Personality Disorder But Treated For Anxiety/depression
I am currently service connected at 30% for irritable bowels and 10% for my right knee. I was diagnosed with PTSD by a private doc however the VA said I had a sever personality disorder (NOS). The VA is now treating me with meds for depression and anxiety. I visited my doc today and asked how is it that I had personality disorder yet I am being treated for anxiety and depression. I was informed by him that the diagnosis of personality disorder was (NOS) meaning the VA was not sure if I had a personality disorder or not. So my question is do I continue to pursue the PTSD claim or should I submit a claim for anxiety/depression based on the fact the VA is treating me with me…

ptsd Submitting A Claim For Sleep Apnea With No Record Of It In Military
I have seen in maybe this forum or other forums, people successfully getting service connected for sleep apnea with no record of it in the military. I was just diagnosed with moderate sleep apnea, and i am pretty sure its from the service. I was also just rated ptsd and i also understand that can be secondary to ptsd. Now what i have seen people who have successfully gotten rated for it without records, they supplied buddy statements (at least 3?) about there experience with your sleeping while in the military. They also posted a study that connected ptsd with causing as like the ones below. ( i guess to submit with the package) Also a statement from the va docto…

hypertension Disability Compensation Question
Hi everyone. This is my first post. Thanks to everyone who takes the time to answer these message boards, there is a lot of great knowledge here. So here is my situation, I separated from the Air Force in 1996. Approximately 3 months prior to separating I had a physical exam with lab results that came back with proteinuria and blood in my urine. I had no idea what this meant, so I asked the physician and he said "if could be caused by strenous exercise or it could be early signs of kidney disease. follow up with a civilian physician when you get out." He more or less acted like it wasn't a huge deal. I went to a civilian doctor a year later and he stated I stil…

Different Vasrd Codes For Va Disability And Peb
I was placed on TDRL in 2009 for dysthymic disorder, VASRD 9433. The VA rated me at 30% then reevaluated for 80% for major depression, VASRD 9434. I just signed my IPEB paperwork for separation with severance for the dysthymic disorder. My question, since the VA rated me for something similar but a different VASRD code, will they still be allowed to recoup the severance through my monthly disability? Thanks for any advice. Hoping some here have been through this situation.

Hello fellow vets and active duty, I am a retired Marine. Retired March 2013 after 20. Semper Fi I'm seeking assistance with a question. I currently have a disability rating with the VA (previous VA claim). Within 60 days of my retirement I had heart failure and had to get a pace maker and soon thereafter another surgical procedure on my heart. I am currently on meds to keep my heart working along with the pace maker. Not to mention anxiety medication. I am seeking advice on submitting another VA claim. Is it too late? From what I have read so far it has to be within a year. Is that true? I really appreciate any advice that you guys could offer me. Thank you J…
