File a claim even though you have 100%?
Hello all, I was awarded 100% PT but I have other valid issues that could be filed. I have heard more times than one, even from my VSO, that the VA can take my percentage if I try to file more claims. I am curious to know if anyone has any insight on this matter. Like I said, I have other legitimate issues but I do not want to put the standing decision in jeopardy. Thanks for any input.

meds for non-service connected condition causes disability?
I assume that if the VA prescribes meds for a s-c disability and those meds end up causing new additional disabilities, they are responsible for the new disability. But is the VA also responsible for a new disability if they prescribe meds for a non-service- connected but treated medical issue over a long period of time and the veteran develops a new "disability"? Example , the veteran is prescribed b/p meds for non s-c hypertension, but the meds, over time, cause a new problem that has a diagnostic code and you can link the 2. What do you think?

Help needed- Where do I go from here?
I am absolutely dumbfounded by the VA's inability to read ! My husband filed a disability claim for the removal of 1/3 of his Intestine (and the large painful residual scar) that was done WHILE ACTIVE DUTY. (The resection was specifically filed as 38 CFR § 4.114 - Schedule of ratings -digestive system. 7329 - Intestine, large, resection of: With symptoms, objectively supported by examination findings). They denied it, so we added supplemental information which included copies of his Service Treatment Records (Attached) that clearly show they did a Hemicolectomy, AKA Resection of Large Intestine. We later submitted an Independent Medical Opinion from his primary care …

HepC claim question
I'm pretty certain I was infected with HepC back in October of 1970 when I was vaccinated with the air gun. I first became aware of it in the mid 80's after being turned down for blood donation. It went on and I tried the different treatments and nothing worked until 2015 Viekera Pak therapy -- one positive thing I can say about VA Healthcare. Viral is down to zero now. I had a bout with varices in 2016 but haven't had any more problems. However, time is not really a friend. I submitted a claim and was turned down in 2011 and being ignorant of the claims process, I didn't appeal it. Hindsight is always so much clearer. Looking at asknod.com I see that there are …

Issues caused from RX Medication
After my spinal fusion, I was Rx the medication Cymbalta. This was supposed to help with my nerve pain and from the depression from the surgery. I took the medication for around a year and noticed that I had a lot of side effects (fatigue, headaches, brain snaps, and overall feeling something wasn't right) I tried to decrease from 60mg down to 30mg to wing myself off and this caused me to fall into a major depression, and feel like I was having a constant hangover. This lasted for weeks and I ended up missing around 11 weeks of work. during this time, I had to slowly decrease the dose to eventually overcome the dependency my body had built up to it. (It was one of t…

Bill To Increase COLA U.S. Rep. Elaine Luria, Chairwoman of the House Veterans’ Affairs Subcommittee on Disability Assistance and Memorial Affairs, recently introduced a Bill to provide a cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) to veterans, and dependents for 2020. The Bill, the Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) Act, would provide cost-of-living increases for wartime disability compensation; compensation for dependents; clothing allowance; dependency and indemnity compensation to surviving spouses; and dependency and indemnity compensation to children. If approved, COLA increases would start on December 1, 2019.

Will I lose my dental appointments?
Hello, I've been on individual unemployability for the last few years. This has allowed me to have several dental appointments during that time. I currently have 2 dental appointments scheduled for May of this year. I'm also returning to work within the next few weeks, and will be losing the individual unemployability. This is by choice as I've gotten healthier and want to get back on my feet again. Question: Am I going to lose those future dental appointments since by that time I'll be off of individual unemployability? My previous disability percentage is 70% so I won't be eligible anymore. Or do I get to keep those dental appointments since they were m…

Should I file multiple claims
Hello fellow vets! It has been a while. I was a paratrooper and served in Desert Storm. I have been dealing with headaches and unanswered pain for years. I recently saw a commercial about the type of pain I had so I made an appointment with a neurologist. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Now that I have a better understanding of it, I see where this could have come from the military. I also suffer from ED and have for some time. I am not sure if it comes from the meds I take or from the vigorous yanking from the parachute being inflated while jumping. I am seriously inquiring. Does anyone see where I would have a valid claim or should I just continue to deal with it on …

How would VA combine a 100, 10, 10 percents disabilities..?
I am thinking the vet would get 100% regardless..? I know they combine all the disabilities, and do some kind of "VA math"..and average it all out somehow..so how much would the 'average' be if the veteran qualified for 3 disabilities that were 100%, 10%, and another 10%..? Or, if the vet gets one 100%, then the other (2) 10% disabilities are then disregarded..?
