Women Veterans / Female Arousal Disorder May 2018
Update information to include : Female Arousal Disorder. There is a specific form for filing - I would check on VA.gov. Citing source: VetWOW 5/21/2018 VetWow 26 mins · VA updates compensation rating criteria, adds women-specific conditions to the schedule In September 2017, VA began updating the VA Schedule for Rating Disabilities, the federal regulations used by claims processors to determine the severity of disabilities related to military service and decide claims. VA is complete…

Depression and TMJ (Temporal Mandibular Joint Dysfunction)
I was diagnosed with TMJ back in 1986 on the outside, not by the VA. I am now being being compensated 50% depression-anxiety and 10% tinnutis by the VA. My TMJ has gotten worse and I am having problem with my jaw on both sides. I recently found out through reading that TMJ can be aggravated by depression and anxiety. I have been thinking of filing a secondary claim for the aggravation of my TMJ due to the depression and anxiety. Anyone out have any input on my filing a secondary claim for the condition I mentioned? And has anyone ever filed a claim for TMJ and a secondary claim for aggravation of it? Thanks for any input you all may have.

File Secondary Best?
I am currently 70% 100% IU and have had renal failure for 4-5 years according to VA lab results but they've only told me recently that i had a problem. In reviewing myhealthvet I see that I am at stage 3 failure. I have had hypertension sc'd for over 30 years but with CPAP usage the high bp was eliminated. If I claim sc for renal failure, will that jeprodize my IU or reopen my entire file for reexam? All of my sc are well over 20 years old. I did have toxic hepatitis in '87 due to the VA medicating me without proper followup and was within a few days of liver failure but after ceasation of the offending medication the liver returned to normal. I did file to be sc on…

Process for Requesting Increase w/o DBQ
Bottom line up front: I am requesting an increase for my shoulders based on limited range of motion, now rated at 10% each. Range of motion testing using a goniometer isn't something doctors do for diagnosis and treatment , so I don't have the medical documentation to make this a simple, fully-developed claim. Should I submit the request with no supporting documentation and await a C&P, or try to find a physician who would see me to document the limited ROM? I have an orthopedic surgeon (and another where I used to live,) but as many of us know, our doctors' concern and job is treating our problems, not participating in administrative processes. Going to see him…

Rhinitis and equipment (air purifier, A/C, etc)
Greetings, I'm not sure if this is where to post my question or not (mod's feel free to move). I recently (Oct 2017) was awarded 30% combined for a long list of items (quite a few zero's, and 3x 10%'s). The effective date was May of 2017. I filed a NOD for a couple of the 0%'s and for secondary conditions along with a detailed list of items evaluated during the C&P exam but were not put into my final report. My Allergic rhinitis and Sinusitis w/ Eustation Tube dysfunction are both 0% connected. Which is great for me. Within 30 days, I had filled out the required paperwork for 15x appointments at the VA and at Choices referred providers from May to Oct 2017 …

20 years old HA
So, in my recent onslaught of fighting the VA at their own game I finally claimed an injury to my shoulder which occurred in 1995. I fell while climbing the mast on the ship and caught myself (duh, by instinct) with my right arm. Of course, like every good navy corpsman it was noted in my records as muscle spams in my neck, shoulder blade and a dulleness in my shoulder will an ache down my arm. Motrin, flexeril and light duty were given. Classic. I got out a year later and being 24 it healed until my late 20's it would bother me once in awhile but nothing serious. Fast forward to the mid 2000 when I started using the VA and it was becoming a nuisance. Bursitis and …

where to begin
i am not sure where to even begin. i served in Navy as a corpsman with 2nd Force Amphib Recon back from 1986-1992. i was deployed around the globe with various recon teams from training drug interdiction training in S. America, to peace keeping in Africa for U.N protection, to getting discharged after Desert Storm. In Africa i witnessed chidren with weapons who would die for adults who put them in harms way, having to on occassion take a childs life for the safety and protection of not only our mission goals, but also civilians. i also witnessed what a ruler was willing to do to his "loyal subjects", when they got out of line, or just to cleanse a region of certain villa…

Will VA look at old disabilities if you submit for a new one?
I'm currently rated at 80% and thinking of filing for a claim for Sleep apnea. I'm currently getting 10% for tinnitus, 50% for PTSD and 60% for Coronary Heart Disease (Agent Orange presumptive). Will the VA take another look at my previous disabilities if I submit a new claim. I'm 68 if that matters. Thanks in advance!
