Loss of use
Hello, it's been a while since I posted and I looked for an answer everywhere and I could not find one. I am 50% disabled for bilateral pest planus. The question is when I received my bilateral AFOs. They knew they made my condition better. The question I have is on loss of use bilateral feet. In 2014 when I was issued the AFOs should I not have gotten loss of use. The way I understand it is if an orthotic is the same or makes it better it's considered loss of use. In that case. If I file can I file for back pay for loss of use. I am not a writer, nor am I a speaker. I hope that you may understand this. Thank you so much for not closing down. By the w…

Va Disability Compensation
What actual information is required in for a Conalescent rating. I had surgery for my service connected claim back in 1993, didn't file at the time. Had outpatient care, bed rest for 3 months. I have the doctor's note stating as such, surgery failed. Had followup care for about another 6 months until I got better. § 4.30 Convalescent ratings. A total disability rating (100 percent) will be assigned without regard to other provisions of the rating schedule when it is established by report at hospital discharge (regular discharge or release to non-bed care) or outpatient release that entitlement is warranted under paragraph (a) (1), (2) or (3) of this section effect…

New Medicine & Overdue Treatment, Required For Rating?
Got a vcaa note for eed correction for compensation to the original claim. The diagnosis is 'exactly' the same, the regulations state 'exactly' the same - from then to now. Question? Do I have really have to 'show' continued treatment from the original claim date? Va monitored me, that was my care from the first. With my new & correct rating, I now have treatment with med(S) from va and another dr. How the....er, grrr, was I to know I needed meds and more care a long time ago? THanks, this may not make sense, but I'm a'tryin. cg

I have been receiving 100 % temporary compensation since last July. My father past away this July and I sought the V.A."s help by seeing a psychiatrist. My father's death put me in a PTSD when I him dead in his bed. He was getting better and we were getting ready to being him home. 100% Sc Plus?
If you are 100% SC for one claim and have still have claims pending, and lets say they award you on those claims, how does the VA pay you more money? Is it determined that once you are 100%, there is no more compensation or is there a special rate for disabilities once you go beyond 100% Is it advisable to pursue these claims? I guess out of fear they might upon another C&P examine , reduce the 100% SC claim, just to grant the other claims pending. Also is there any benefit to try and get Total and permanent at 100%. I mean they award 100% but not T&P for one service connection, or do they award that later at the next C&P, if no improvement is found?

Court Appointed Guardian
I began applying for my brother to receive disability from the Vietnam war in 1999. He was awarded 50% in 2000. I asked for a increase in 2004 as his condition had worsened. He was denied. I filed an appeal. We waited until May of this year for a hearing via satellite in St. Louis, MO. Received 100% order on July 1, 2008. Received award letter October 8, 2008. Received a phone call from the Guardianship Dept in Chicago. They stated I must become Court Appointed for my brother. I have been a Fidicuary since 2002 and Legal Custodian since 2002. I also have a POA for property since 2001. Why do they want me to be court appointed now. I have been taking care of h…

Questions Re: Ms & Viet Nam/ Need Opinions Please
I have MS and I was stationed in Germany in 1976-1977. As I am reading about MS and vets, it seems that Agent Orange was the factor if a vet was stationed in VietNam. Those appear to be the vets that are successful in receiving compensation. I don't think I came in contact with Agent Orange because I was in Germany. I received the immunizations of who knows what. I was also gassed a few times in training Do I even bother to apply? How would I answer the question of "how is my disability related to my service in the military"? Are there any other factors that I am unaware of? I've just begun looking into all of this. Thanks-
