Service-Connected Conditions Worsened After Car Accident, Will I be Granted Increases/Secondary Conditions?
Since 2015, I've been rated at 60%. I have ratings for my right shoulder, lower back, knees, and ankle. I was involved in a car accident which have caused my conditions to worsen. My hip is now a constant bother, as well as my non-rated shoulder. After having an X-ray performed, degenerative changes and bone spurs were shown in my hip, and scoliosis was shown in my back. I had no intentions of hiding the accident from the VA and informed my physician of the incident. Is there any possibility of being granted secondary conditions for my hip and non-rated shoulder with the accident being notated in my VA records?

Pending Claim
If a claim is categorized as reopened, is VA required to issue a rating decision. Is their any other types of unofficial VA decisions (non rating decisions) for a reopen claim. Years ago, my claim was denied and within one year of that denial, it was reopened by VA and continued to be developed. After 3 years of continued development of the reopened claim, I was provided a statement of non-availability of service treatment records and at the bottom. a few years after receiving the statement of non-availability of SMRs, I requested a rating of my pending reopened claim and it was treated as a claim to reopen and the date of the denial prior to the reope…

VA benefits process
I spoke with the VA today regarding my claim moving from evidence gathering to preparation for notification. The VA person stated my claim was sent to a "rater." Does that mean a decision was made in my favor possibly and it was sent to be rated?

Need help denial Reimbersemeent Emergency Community Care
Need help denial Reimbersemeent Emergency Community Care. I got a letter form the VA offices that pay the reimbursements for Community Care. A couple months ago, I was very sick and bed ridden with breathing problems and green stuff coming out of my lungs... this went on for 2 weeks and a 102 degree fever. I called my VA and my primary care and begged to see them they told me no, and to go to a community care facility, they gave me the name and address of a participating hospital close to me. The VA Hospital is 75 miles one way, this hospital is 15 miles. I gave them my VA card, they found out I had bronchitis. On top of the necrotizing pancreatitis, and live…

Travel Reimbursement
Aloha, As a resident in Hawaii I was authorized to use VCP thru TriWest. It has since become a little more complicated with Community Care then TriWest, but it’s not an issue with my question. At least IMO. I am still using doctors outside of the VA facility. In July of 2018, I was authorized by TriWest for treatment of prostate cancer at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. At that time I was not required to talk to VA in order to use VCP. Treatment was received. I submitted a travel reimbursement to the VA within the 30 day window. I thought TriWest authorization was authorization from VA to travel. Otherwise how would I receive treatment? Reimbursement…

Vietnam Purple Heart Search
Aloha, I'm not sure this is the correct forum to post this into, but during a record search at home in regard to another issue I found a letter from a Captain to a Commanding General, United States Army Vietnam requesting I be awarded a Purple Heart for wounds suffered while flying a mission in the Vietnam Theater of Operations. I also have a copy of the treatment records from the emergency room. I remember the incident and going to the emergency room. I don't remember the application for the Purple Heart. The date of the letter requesting the Award was dated after my return from Vietnam. The Captain who took me to the emergency room has since died. I requested …

Narcolepsy causing Rheumatoid Arthritis
I have narcolepsy and its has been documented as being an autoimmune disease. I also have 2 other claims for Arthritis of Cervical Spine and Thoracolumbar Spine. Since after my discharge i've been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, so what I'm asking if someone could point me in the right direction, should i put in for a new claim for Rheumatoid Arthritis or add it as a secondary to my Narcolepsy. My Narcolepsy doctor will write me a letter on saying something to the effect that the autoimmune from the Narcolepsy would more than likely caused the Rheumatoid. I'm just not sure how to go about getting my Rheumatoid added, im rated at 80% right now and my Arthrit…

Different ROM - which does VA use for compensation?
I’ve searched, but can’t seem to locate my answer. I have bad knees, and during my C&P, the doctor wrote down three sets of ROM - initial, after three, and during pain. Which ROM does the VA use when deciding which percentage to give?

Need help with Spine C&P exam questions, etc. ankylosing spondylitis
I am serviced connected for ankylosing spondylitis back in 1985. I had a C&P exam on 7-7-19 since I am asking for an increase in my cervical, thoracic, and lumbosacral ratings. After speaking with the DAV to find out progress and info on my exam, the Rep. noted sort of what I expected. Radiculopathy was noted and ROM was 0-15 for cervical, and 0-25 for back. I am currently rated as Cervical 30%, Thoracic 10%, and Lumbosacral 40%. The main question that I have is relating to the thoracic 10% and lumbosacral 40%. I am confused on these two. Is Lumbosacral separate from the thoracic/others ? Since my back ROM is at 0-25, does this mean that my thoracic might increase fro…
