This is where to post those questions. it's OK, if you are feeling confused this is not at all unusual it can be a very confusing system. Explanation of Disability Compensation
Right then, last year I won my CUE claim with the help of many here and I received a nice amount of retro pay. Well, I did my German taxes earlier this year and needless to say, that Retro Pay got some attention. In the past, I claimed my retirement and disability and it went smoothly. These are not taxed here in Germany, but I simply need to report the income. Seems someone at the German Tax Office (Finanzamt) didn't understand the treaty between the USA and Germany, so I was sent a bill for 11000 Euros! I've had to hire a tax expert and this has actually become work. One of the things I need and cannot find is an explanation on the disability compensation sy…

Agent Orange presumptive prostate cancer claim files in April 2021 still waiting wondering if there is a problem
I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in early April 2021 by the VA. I am verified to being herbicide exposed in Vietnam by the VA. No one (VSO, Peggy ) seems to have a clue why this is moving so slowly. I just had another biopsy which again verified the cancer. I have a preop next week to plan surgery to ease my urinary complications. My understanding was that this should have been a fairly quick process to complete this claim. e-benefits has been showing out for decision for several months. The woman at the Peggy number said she thought this was way to long for a decision and was going to write a letter to someone looking for an answer. I`m stumped as to finding …

Question about how I filed my new claim in March.
I filed a claim for Hypothyroidism, Sleep Apnea and COPD it is currently in the investigation phase. I have already completed the requested testing. Here's the issue I'm concerned with. I was concerned about my previous claim filed in 2017 and appealed in 2018, so think I messed up. I have AO connected Heart Disease 10% and Service connected Neuropathy, SC Tinnitus 10% and Hearing Loss 0%. When I put the claim together, I just listed Hypothyroidism, Sleep Apnea (Secondary to Thyroid Disease) and COPD Secondary to Thyroid Disease. I had read up and saw correlation between Apnea and Covid with Thyroid issues. Problem is I shouldn't have made dise…

heart disease update with questions...
greetings once more, Since my last post I've had the bruce stress test, echo-cardiogram and yesterday the non evasive Electrocardiogram-gated CT. Of all these test the last was the most distressing with findings of right coronary artery: heavily calcified (among other things) the test conclusions were: Elevated coronary calcium score at 1337 Agaston units which is at the 80th percentile for age and gender, placing the patient at elevated risk for cardiovascular events over the ensuing 10 years. Also, inadequate evaluation of coronaries due to motion artifact from respiration and presence of heavy calcification. Recommend invasive angiography. So I expect to rec…

VA Compensation Rates
How about everyone writing their congressmen and pointing out how low our compensation rates are especially for younger vets who become 100% and have no significant SSA or pension benefits from a long term job. If I was 25 years old even with 100% benefits I would be living in near poverty. I could not afford to buy a house in my area on $3200? This is chump change for a young disabled vet. Old guys like me have SSA and maybe pension benefits plus our VA compensation. Unless you are getting TDIU or 100% you don't even get $2000 a month maximum for 90%. I have disability insurance payments plus SSA and pension. I do OK but if I did not have that extra I would be hur…

dental trauma to #8 and 9 teeth
My son fell while in TBS in 1996. Broke part of #8 off and also did some injury to #9. This was noted in his Dental STR. He has had chronic problems since then with these teeth. # 8 finally had to be referred outside for root canal and build up of tooth. Tooth had lost blood flow and color. Fast forward. He is now retiring from USMC and is wondering if he has a valid dental claim. He talked over this with me and problem is that he filed his VA claim last week and failed to mention this issue. He is still AD for 3-4 more months. My reading of this VA law is kind of vague, as VA ratings mention loss of multiple teeth or jaw, etc. He still has issues with these teeth. …

Psoriasis rating review
I have had psoriasis for about 10 years, and in my initial VA determination it was determined to be service connected and I got 10% (they only called it a generic skin condition then, it wasn't diagnosed as psoriasis officially until after I had left active duty.) However, since then I have been on a consistent supply of topical steriods. I have also been on Humira, otezla intermittently, and will be going on Stelara soon. The reason I stopped treatment with the systemics was because of insurance being not paying for it and that stuff is crazy expensive. I have it mostly on my back, chest, scalp and some on my face. My question is, will that VA take that I couldn't a…
