Entitlement - Veterans Compensation Benefits Claims
Once you know you are eligible for Veterans Disability Compensation, the question then becomes are you entitled to it by law. This is where to post those questions. it's OK, if you are feeling confused this is not at all unusual it can be a very confusing system. If you were injured in service and have a question about whether you are entitled to file a claim, post it here. Law 38C.F.R.3.4 (a)

File increase from 80% to 100% ?
Hi everyone . I was awarded 80% combine rating last year . 70% for my major depression . 10% for tinnitus, 10% for cervical strain and 10% for scoliosis. And 0% for migraine . I have been impatient to the mental hospital for about 10 day in Dec 2018 , and been on and off with mental health doctor appointment since thereafter , because I am worried that they gonna put me in hospital again . I have been diagnosed with PTSD apart from major depression . And my migraine has actually getting worse . I feel like 0 percentage for my migraine is under rated and I want to get my rating to 100% . But I have read online that people are saying when filling for increase , I could al…

Need help with 100% P&T. Rating table shows only 93%
Used these forums a lot for research and I appreciate everyone's inputs that I have used in my own situation.. Down to the point I recently had a decision from the VA granting 50% for PTSD. My complete percentage list looks like this 50(Plantar fasciitus), 50(PTSD), 30(Sleep Apnea), 20(shoulder/right), 20(shoulder/right), 20(back), 10(tinnitus), 10(hip). Following the combined rating table I get to 93. Waiting on my decision letter to get to the house, I received a retro payment of 1300-ish. I check ebenefits and it shows me at 100% P&T. Anyone have experience with this? Why is it 100%? Does this mean I can't work? Never applied for or mentioned anything about fa…

Connected ratings
I figured I would throw this question out partly because of boredom. If the VA has rating criteria for psoriasis based on medication use, why would the connected ratings, which are treated with the same medications, not have similar criteria. For example, a 60% rating for psoriasis is constant use of immunosuppresive meds, but IBD and psoriatic arthritis are not rated this way, even though the same powerful drugs are used in treatment and the conditions often claimed as secondaries of each other. I know its based on the regulations in existence, but just curious why this wouldn't be taken in to account. Just something I found a bit odd.

Pes Planus
Recently discovered I was reported to suffer from flat feet on my entrance exam into the military. Mild and asymptomatic. Had numerous lower leg problems during service (shin, knee, hip, calf, etc). I'm service connected for my knee. I want to file for flat feet; however would my service connected knee help the claim?

FSAD Secondary to PTSD/MST
Good evening. Has anyone submitted a claim for FSADD since the VASRD Code was approved in May? I am 100% sure I would be approved % would be 0 like the males with ED and should receive the same SMC-K as the males. I am looking specifically as whether I would file it secondary to PTSD (due to MST). There is another post in one of the forums about someone who did have a C&P exam for the MST but nothing was asked secondary to their claim for PTSD. Anyone else requested approval for this?

Earlier Effective Date for Increase
Was recently granted 100% P&T after filing a supplemental claim for an increase in my Mental Health rating. I submitted the intent to file in mid-2018 and then filed my claim about 11 months later 2019. The VA scheduled me for a C&P exam with their Psychiatrist, who screwed up the exam and ultimately led to me continuing to be rated at 30%. I then received a DBQ from my Mental Health Doc at the VA and submitted a supplemental claim, which led to an increase to the 70% rating for MDD and brought me to 100% P&T. The issue is they dated the effective date for the 70% rating to the date my VA Mental Health Doc completed the DBQ, which was November 2019 and not…

Hypertension/Kidney failure question.
I am writing this on behalf of my father with a question. My father is a Navy veteran with an honorable discharge my father first starting having medical issues during drills and would sometimes be sent to sickbay to be looked at. It wasn't until my father entered the reserves that we found out that he had hypertension he ended up leaving the military I think around 2003 with an honorable discharge. This is where it gets tricky he was diagnosed with hypertension while in the reserves but later on this fully developed into kidney failure which led to stage 3 kidney failure. Unable to work my father was given disability but SSI kept taking him off stating that he was entitl…

Psoriatic arthritis addition
Everyone here helped me out immensely a couple years ago, so I'm back for another round. The VA already granted me 60% for Psoriasis, but I have recently discussed the onset of Psoriatic arthritis with my dermatologist, which became noticeable after a lapse in my psoriasis medication. I am currently on stelara for the psoriasis, which also helps control the arthritis. I am trying to figure out how I should go about applying to add the arthritis to my compensation. I'm not sure if it should me a secondary claim or primary. Also I'd like to know what code it is evaluated under. I've read that rheumatoid arthritis can be given a rating per major joint, is this the same…

Psoriatic Arthritis Claim
New to the forum. Have a few questions about my psoriatic arthritis claim. Here is a little of my back story: Discharged from the Army in 1995. I had problems with psoriasis on legs, chest and scalp when discharged. Also had documented foot, hand and back issues when I discharged. I was given a 10% rating on my back, 0% for both hands and feet. No mention of psoriasis in the award letter in 1998. So that process took 3 years. In 2001 while getting treatment in a VA hospital for psoriasis the doctor asked why was limping and I told him about my problems I've had since discharging. He ended up picking up the phone and arranged to have me meet a Rheumatologist…
