This is where to post those questions. it's OK, if you are feeling confused this is not at all unusual it can be a very confusing system. ptsd Help Me Understand This Letter About Recoupment Pay
I changed my status from married to single. When I got the letter saying my compensation has been adjusted for being single, this was in bold letters after that. A review of your file revealed that recoupment of your disability severeance pay should have stopped when you were granted a disability rating of 100%. This matter will be adressed in another letter. I was discharged for my wrist at 10% but now Im 100% due to wrist, ptsd, and a disk disease. Does this mean they want me to pay back the 20k or so in a lump sum? I've only been 100% for a year and a half or so.

What Am I Entitled To After Being Rated 20%?
Hello,\ I was recently rated at 20% for tinnitus and insomnia. I was denied for hearing loss even though I can't hear squat and I worked on the flight deck of a carrier my whole time in the Navy. But, I already posted questions about that and got some great informative reponses. I just got my information packet explaining why I was rated where i was rated but it doesn't explain anything else at all. I guess what I am asking is where do I go from here, and what am I entitled to now that i wasn't entitled to as just a veteran?

Claim Date Vs. Effective Date
Almost 19 months, I am happy to say that my claim is finally done. I do want to thank everyone for your help along the way. This forum really helps a lot. I put my claim in April 2012. I received notification Nov 15, 2013. My effective date is March 1, 2013. Here's my question. Why is my claim date not the same as my effective date? Does that mean my back pay will not go back to my claim date? Does my back pay only goes to my effective date? WHY? I don't understand. If my back pay only goes back to March 2013, is there a way to get my back pay to my claim date? It's just not fair, they just took a year out of my claim. It's like they think I submitted my cl…

ptsd 0% Tbi?
I was given a rating of 10% TBI last year. I Appealed my PTSD decision and the regional office reduced my TBI to 0%. So it is still on record, but it isn't calculated into my overall percentage. They said the reason was that the symptoms of TBI and PTSD were similar. The 10% TBI rating did not affect my overall rating of 80%. Has this happened to anyone else?

Dental Reimbursement
Hello All, Now that my husband is 100% IU, he is eligible for fee-based dental, which we are already utilizing. His IU became effective back to 08/2011. During the time he was waiting for his claim to be decided, we spent roughly $400 out of pocket for dental expenses about 5 months ago. My question is: is this reimbursable to us because of the effective date of eligibility? And if yes, who do we submit the reimbursement to? And what forms are we to use? I would definitely like to get that $400 back. Now that I am also eligible for ChampVA, I have already submitted my claims for reimbursement for my out of pocket medical expenses, but that certainly doesn'…

Is This A Good Case For An Earlier Effective Date Using 3.157?
Is this a good case for an earlier effective date using 3.157? I'm looking to get some opinions. I've been reading about 38 CFR 3.157 as an exception to the usual effective date being the date of claim. My hubby was med boarded out of the Navy & received service connection for seizures. I was able to access partial medical records through MyHealth E Vet blue button feature. I saw he was treated 5 times by the VA for seizures with the 1st time being in 1997. Since he had VA treatment for his service connected disability, and we have now filed a formal claim for increase of the seizures, would he be eligible for a 1997 Earlier Effective Date under the 3.157 ex…

ptsd Increased Ratings
First off, sorry for the double post. I was not sure if I posted in the correct section. I will try to keep this short and simple. I got injured, got transitioned into WTU in Texas, received a line of duty and got med boarded after fighting to stay in. During the the med-board I was receiving treatment at BAMC and I was told that because of my surgical needs I would need to get out and then come back in on a waiver. I had fractured my spine and severely herniated 3 disks with nerve damage. After about 4 months of fighting the Medboard I was told that I would have no issues returning back to active duty as long as I took a low military disability rating. I agreed …

Cpap
I am set to the VA for a new CPAP machine, the one I have was issued by the Army in 2010. I complained to the VA and stated that my machine is making ticking sounds, broken face mask, hole in the hose (covered with tape), and often times take up to five seconds to turn after pressing the on button. What should I expect when I take my machine in and what questions will they ask?
