Does Anyone Know The Answer?
When are the bed rest days calculated? Is it when the claim was first processed, or the date of the C & P exam???? I do have prescribed bed rest for back pain, but do not know when the VA actually calculates the days within a year period. Thanks for all responses.

Nervous About C&p Exam For My Back. Will I Get Screwed Because Of Rom
I am new to this forum and I thank those who have educated me greatly!. Had my C&P exam last week and am a bit nervous about this process. Had multiple back injuries while in the Coast Guard which are documented (even on my retirement PE). MRI states multiple herniated disc L1-L5 with annular tears and moderate degenerative disc disease L1-S1. Also have radiculopathy with bilat lower extremity weakness. I have researched that most back claims are rated on ROM, which mine was 40%, but I have documented bed rest for 7 weeks in the past year, and have been out of worked for a total of 5 months the past year. For anyone with experience or similar findings, what would be …

Bdd
I find it funny that all BDD/Quick Start claims, which are supposed to speed up the process for disability Compensation has slowed down the process because only two facilities are managed those claims, yet someone who submits there iniital claim the old fashion way tends to get a response in less than 6 months, granted that their are those members that are the exception and are getting the run around over a year later. However, I am not talking about appeals or resummital claims only the BDD/Quick Start. I am talking about inital claims to determine a rating. The VA is puzzling me in that aspect. QUICK START AND BDD are both way behind the power curve and I don't care…

Claim
I am 100 Sc however I am filing for an increase on several claims. My plan is as follows, please tell me what you think and if this is correct. FIle an increase with my local DAV office and submit new medical evidence. I was told by the VSO office once I file for an increase it would take 12 - 24 months for a response/ decision. So, I will file on 3 Oct 2011, Once I file I will submit evidence at that time and on a monthly basis after I have been treated by my docs. I am filing and increase for the following, 1. Hemmoroids 0% 2. Testalgia 0% 3. High Blood Pressure 0% however I am now taking meds. 4. Constipation do to Meds side effect. 5. Left Eye blurred …

Ever Which Way
When in the process filing out a claim, and trying to explain how a secondary is related to a SC issue, would it be reasonable to state all the factors that contributed to the making of the secondary to form? The reason I ask, concerns the credibility and the amount of evidence the rater is going to need to justify his/her decision. For example; >>>>>>"Due to the aggravation from my SC knee, has contributed to me falling and ambulating with an abnormal gait thru out the years, which has resulted in the injuries of my lower back"<<<<<< Since it's already proven that abnormal gaits do aggravate other parts of the body, and falli…

Mood Disorder To Include Depression
Hey I was wondering I just had a C/P for depression secondary to my SC back which I claimed a chronic pain issue are they all rated together or seperate? I am waiting to see what the raters will do. I am leary of the raters as most of the ones I have had ignore what surgeons and Doctors say and I believe that they (raters) will decide based on their opinion not my Doctors. Anyone got an idea? I just got off the phone with the VARO telling them that I was going out of state to find a place to live and I would not have acess to my PO Box should they send anything in the next two weeks. I have tried sending messages to VA within the system IRIS but I can never get one throug…

Increase For Mdd
Someone help me understand this. I am 50% SC for MDD secondary to DMII and a host of other SC'ed medical conditions totalling about 14. At my last C&P exam the Dr. noted that my social adaptability and interactions with others appears to be considerably to severely impaired, as well as my ability to maintain employment and perform job duties in a reliable, flexible and efficient manner. Why was ask for an addendum from the examiner? She states that there was no change to my diagnosis! I am 100% P&T with one condition rated at 60% for a failed knee replacement. 1. Should I appeal for 100% for MDD since as stated I can't work 2. Can I claim loss of use …

I am currently 100% Sc and I applied for SSD back in March of this year (2011), I hired a law firm to represent me throughout the SSD process and the following is a timeline of what occurred during that time.
