Bipolar C&P Exam Today
I had a C&P exam this morning for an increase to my bipolar rating. I wanted to share my experience. It was a telehealth appointment. My first appointment was canceled, which was very fortunate because I was not prepared. I spent the time before the new appointment researching what to expect and the best way to approach the exam. I decided to make a page with a detailed list of my symptoms and a separate page with issues that I wanted to discuss. When the exam started I told the doctor that I was worried about forgetting something and that I had made notes as a reminder. She said that was a great idea and let me refer to my notes after every question. When s…

More LHI venting
OK here to vent again. I've had some crappy appointments setup from LHI but this one is the worst. When you fill out online in your account it asks if you are willing to travel more than 50 miles. I of course said no to this. Well I got my voicemail from them today. Out of state over 2 hours away and 109 miles. WTF. Really? I do not understand. This is for a hearing test and I can google probably 30 places within 20-30 minutes from where I live. I wish I could talk to someone higher about this stuff. Venting over. Thanks

Is there a way to get the VA to discipline a lying C&P examiner?
I know the difference between opinions and facts and making a mistake with fact. This isn't about getting them to change the opinions. I love them because they are such clear BS and what they hung their hat on was an obvious error that has been retracted. I have an NP & a Neuro, working as a team for LHI in San Diego. They "recently" did C&P's the reports/dbq's are laughingly transparent attempts to cause claim denial. The NP even argued that a clearly charted MD's dx of solvent poisoning was speculation and claimed the corpsmen who didn't pay attention to his dx were right in "diagnosing" it as flu. This A-hole took the bizarre step of referring to stat…

Example of Private Dr opinion that is probably (more than) adequate- Obesity/OSA
Okay guys and girls, gather round the fire. This is a bit of a read, but THIS is the best private doctor submitted opinion ive come across while ive been 'on the inside'. Most of the ones I see are a paragraph or two, wishy washing around about the condition, and the doctors opinion- with no WHY, other than "Im the doctor, and I examined them and this is why I think so.....". That doesn't really cut it. Yes, I know that C and P docs don't do anything this extensive, either, most of the time, and I can't defend that either, but this particular condition that they are claiming is already thorny, and its 'by way of' another caused by an SC disability. For those…

DBQs and possible nexus re-evaluation?
Based on a DBQ, would a C&P examiner be pressed by the VA to give an opinion on the nexus of an existing rating when the exam is for an increase (unemployability)? I filed for unemployability. During my C&P exam for my Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) increase (unemployability claim) the examiner seemed to be asking questions or making comments that would suggest a re-determination of a nexus for my MDD. Have any of you seen where VA might ask the examiner for their opinion of the nexus on an existing rating when the exam is for an increase (unemployability)? My head was swimming with anxiety and my back issues flared up to the point where I could hardly…

Is there a unit in the VA that will discipline VA contractors that lie and misrepresent fact to create a denial opinion?
Please, don't explain to me about the difference between opinions and fact. I know the difference. An NP with only 3 years of experience and a neurologist did exams on me few months back. Just received their reports. The NP out and out lied about facts and misrepresented medical records. It was intentional as all get out. He claimed that a clearly charted diagnosis of solvent poisoning by an MD was not a diagnosis. He called it speculation and then claimed that notes (by a corpsmen that didn't make a diagnosis though it showed his assumption he was dealing with flu) where a diagnosis and the conclusion. Moreover, the G.I. distress from the solvent poisoning was shown…

Rebuttal to bad C & P Exams
I like a lot of you have had issues with bad C & P Exams. I decided to get a Medical Exam from an outside Doctor. I chose Thomas Seiter, M.D. of Marian Medical. I chose him mainly because I like how he wrote his IMO's and DBQ's and his location was close to where I live. (He is in Augusta GA) I did the exam on March 7 & 8. I had to return home for a total knee replacement on March 14 that I am still removing from so I have not had much time to post hear. I will post more on my experience with Doctor Thomas Seiter. He provided me with the below documents and gave me permission to post them hear. They will give you good examples of how to fight bad C & P Ex…
