TBI -- Years Later- An Awkward Process
Folks: I'm currently in the wait mode now for the outcome of my TBI and Headaches Exams. Frankly, without my wife pushing for years to get treated for my headaches, memory loss and claustrophobia issues, I would not have made the claim in the first place because of the "hassle" on Hadit.com that I've read about. I also did not want to talk to anyone about my issues because I did not want people to think less of me and my abilities? At first I tried to talk to someone at the VA to make an appointment at my local VA Hospital and get assessed for TBI and related issues. But, I pretty much got the run around at the start. Then a Vet friend said based upon the evidence in…

Has C&P ever resulted in s/c contentions not filed for?
I am curious if this has happened to anyone? Has anyone ever gone for a C&P exam for a specific claim and been awarded additional s/c for other contentions not filed for? The reason I ask this, is b/c my exam yesterday for increase to my L ankle, the doctor made a lot of notes to include measurements of my scars (not requested) as well as other notes regarding my foot and toe and my other foot (which is in appeal status). Thoughts?

ptsd Filed FDC on 1/12/16 - Have TWO C&P exams scheduled!
So I just got a FedEx envelope with my C&P exams. One is for my L ankle synovitis increase and my other C&P exam is for my PTSD increase. Both are scheduled for February 4th, 2016. Pretty excited I got them so quickly. I just filed my FDC on 1/12/16 but I think a lot of "fast tracking" is going on with my situations. I put my FDC in originally for my 100% temporary convalescence, increase for L ankle synovitis, and PTSD. Going to have to get a lot prepared coming up next month! I have these two C&P exams (QTC) and I have my NOD (DRO Hearing) next month as well! Should be an interesting month.

ptsd CP conducted without veteran.
Sorry for the long post but need some insight. I filed a claim IU in June 2015. I looked at my my healthvet file and found this. It states a CP Exam but I was not present as I read further it was seem like a medical opinion from a CP Exam I had in December of last year. Can someone take a look at it and give some insight into what the outcome may be? This is an addendum to Dr. ??? PTSD C&P evaluation of 12/12/2014, Per VBA request of 11/24/2015. Dr. ???is no longer available to complete the addendum so it was assigned to this writer. The relevant portion of form 2507 is copied below: Please have examiner ?????. provide an addendum to the examination he or she conducte…

ptsd FDC C&P Exams tomorrow
Well with all that is going on for me....With my DRO hearing at the end of the month, I now have my C&P exams scheduled for tomorrow that pertain to my FDC that I filed on 1/12/16. I got the packet in the mail last week and I have gotten all my evidence ready for each exam. My one exam is for an increase to my Left Ankle Synovitis. I have a great letter from my podiatrist to back me up doctor letter_Redacted.pdf as well as I have all my medical records from the time I was S/C to current. Not sure if the examiner has them or not so I am bringing them. I plan to bring my Osteogenesis stimulator with me. I am sure I will look a hot mess rolling up on my knee bike …

constipation claim, ibs ?
I started having trouble with constipation pretty bad while I was in the army. Upon my ets at the exam I told the doctor that I had a lot of trouble going. I had also been seen twice for constipation while in the service I received a letter from the va a few months after getting out stating that consipation is a symptom not a diagnosis and that my claim was denied and if I could provide new and material evidence the claim could be revisited. That was in 2004. I reopened my claim september 2015 and went to a c and p in San Francisco. The doctor was a gasteroentrologists and he was pretty helpful. He stated that I have ibs constipation predominate. this is his exact m…

CP Exam Contested --- how to proceed
I was given a "less likely than not" smack down by my CP examiner (as prior existing MH issue, so not service connected), but some of the things he wrote in his reasoning were direct contradictions to statements in my other documentation (showing that he either didn't read them properly, or that he was intentionally attempting for some reason to cause a denial). In any event, since it's still in the "preparation for decision" phase, I wrote up a document saying I wanted to contest the CP Exam based on (yada yada) and brought it to the regional office so they could add it to my file. Has anyone done this before? Will this be taken into consideration? Do they make you retak…

Need help understanding C&P exam.
Hi all, Been a while since I have been in this forum. I sort of come and go with getting my troubles with the VA worked out (read: get frustrated with it). This time around I am working with the DAV on a increase for CFS. Service records are riddled with mention of all the symptoms, including actual diagnosis for CFS which I hear is rare for the time frame of my service 89-95. Just had another C&P exam this week. Dr went over and added a lot of stuff over the CFS:. IBS, Scars, Lower back pain, EPSTEIN BAR VIRUS and skin rash. Not sure why all the add-ons, but I assume it cannot hurt? Needless to say the exam was 3 hours, unconformab…

ROM during C&P exam with redacted exam results
Hi, I wanted to get some feedback on my C&P exam due to a claim. The claim went forward because my previous C&P for my DDD was full of lies about my ROM. Below is my ROM during the exam also complete redacted exam. Anyway, any idea of what the possible increase would be? forward flexion----0 to 15 degrees extension---- 0 to 10 degrees right lat flexion-- 0 to 10 degrees left lat flexion-- 0 to 10 degrees right lat rotation----0 to 20 degrees left lat rotation-- 0 to 20 degrees Here is my full exam: CURRENT STATUS BACK CONDITION: He has a baseline pain of 7/10 that flares up to 8-10/10 a couple times a month…
