Adjustment Disorder?
Hello all. I'm new here. Can someone tell me if Chronic Adjustment Disorder secondary to a diagnosed heart condition is compensible? I have researched this thoroughly, but I can't seem to get a straight answer. Some forums say it is, some say it isn't. I do know that it is in the VASRD. But would the VA pay to compensate for it? Thanks in advance.

Advice For Vietnam Vet Who Recently Suffered A Stroke
Hello everyone. I'm new to this forum, so I apologize if my questions have already been answered elsewhere, or if I'm posting in the wrong place - this seemed to be the most appropriate forum for my question. I'm actually new to this whole VA benefits thing - I've been doing a lot of research, but there is so much info and it is so complex, I feel like the more I read the more confusing it becomes. So here's my story. On Dec 7, my dad had a brain stem stroke that left him in a very bad condition. He cannot speak or swallow, his left side is paralyzed, and his breathing is very labored at times due to the fact that he cannot clear the congestion from his lungs. He is on a …

Advice on requesting and increase please.
Thanks in advance and also for having this forum. I have an overall rating of 80%. 70% for PTSD and 20% for a Degenerative Disc Disease and numbness in my right arm. I have the DDD rating from my ETS date in 2006 and my MRI from then only showed an issue in one disc C5-6. Recently my symptoms from the neck injury worsened and after a visit with my PA she ordered a new MRI which showed severe issues in almost every disc in my cervical and a minor issue in my T-1 disc now. MRI results available if it would help. My question is based on the added problems is it likely they can be linked to the original cervical injury and if so would a rate increase …

ptsd Advice On Upcoming C&p Exam
Hello everyone. I have an upcoming C&P that is scheduled in a few weeks. I filed for PTSD (both combat and physical assualt related) and mental condition. I am a little nervous because I don't know what to expect once at the exam. I know I have to be honest about everything, but I want to be sure I leave nothing out. This has been a long two years of this claim pending. Any advice on what to do or not to do while at or before the exam?

tdiu Advice Sought On Mental Health C&p Re-eval
I am rated 80% right now, with 50% for migraines, and 30% for adjustment disorder (many symptoms related to the headaches, memory impairment, anxiety, sleep problems, etc). I also have several other rated conditions (knees, back, wrist,) all 10%. I was notified I was being re-evaluated for my migranes and my adjustment disorder. I showed up as required. In both cases, I was unable to drive myself to the appointment. The Dr. who saw me for the migranes noted this in his report, the Mental Health Evaluator did not. The Mental Health evaluator omitted several things I said, he did not report my statement that I had not slept the night before, or that I was wearing …

After seventeen years of fighting the VA stick a fork in me, I am done!
I realize how VA C&P is so against the Veterans. VA sent me to a Psyc exam and a shoulder exam. I was able to get copies of those exams. Pysc exam stated I was a danger to myself and should have supervision at all times. Shoulder exam said my shoulder movements is less than 10 degree. So instead going with that exam decision they scheduled 4 more without me having to attend. I was not happy with it so I went to one of the exam before examiner started my case and asked what type of evidence they will be basing my case on. Come to find out, VA only provide irrelevant notes from doctors. So. I suggest highly to all Veterans to be at your C&P exam in person. We have …

After The Emg/nerve Study?
I file a claim to increase my rating in left knee due to another Surgery for tourn Cartlage. The VA scheduled a C/P and I went they where looking at the leg for other reason such as loss of feeling and pain. I resenly had spinal fusion of the L-4 and L-5. Since the fusion on a follow-up visit the nero doc stated the bones didn't fuse quickly ennough and the bones shifted causing them to agian inpinge on the nerve. He claimed that the impingment was causing the pain as before. This is the second surgery on my back in the last two years. I was rated already 50% on the back and didn't file for anything additional because I figured that I was already at the max except the Con…

After Waiting 4 Years For A C/p The Doctor Was Not Prepared
Hello...it has been a while since I have asked a question...but here goes...yesterday My husband had finally made it to a c/p after waiting 4 years ...when we arrived at the Va hospital I was surprised that the doctor asked me to come along...MY Husbands c/p was for his back, heart, and headaches...he is already connected for his back and Migraine headaches so the c/p was for an increase of those two ...the heart condition was new...even though when he retired it was mentioned in the VA claim sheet he filled out during his out processing...they did say he had a afib but they felt it was transit and did not give a rating at that time... but since then he has had to have a…

tdiu Age Of Veteran
My c & p examiner noted that reason for my chf was not the sc htn but my age (64) and that the chf was a natural age progression. He states this on 2 of my contentions. I am seeking increase for current 30% htn rating, due to atrial fibrillation and chf. He claims the Afib is more in keeping with non-service cardiac conducting system dysfunction. Not sure how to rebutt this assertion, but htn does get progressively worse with time, claimdate is retro to May 2003- DRO granted 30% in April 2007, so only 6 years have elapsed frm date of award. Looked at 4.19 and it appears age can be used, exceptfor TDIU. ANY IDEAS?
