1. Post a clear title like 'Need help preparing PTSD claim' or "VA med center won't schedule my surgery" instead of 'I have a question'.

Knowledgable people who don't have time to read all posts may skip yours if your need isn't clear in the title.

I don't read all posts every login and will gravitate towards those I have more info on.

2. Use paragraphs instead of one huge, rambling introduction or story.

Again - You want to make it easy for others to help. If your question is buried in a monster paragraph there are fewer who will investigate to dig it out.

3. Post clear questions and then give background info on them.

Example is:

A. I was previously denied for apnea - Should I refile a claim?

I was diagnosed with apnea in service and recived a CPAP machine but claim was denied in 2008. Should I refile?

B. I may have PTSD- how can I be sure?

I was involved in traumatic incident on base in 1974 and have had nightmares ever since, but I did not go to mental health while enlisted. How can I get help?

The biggest component of HadIt.com to help veterans is our very active discussion forum. Over 7500 (as of March 2011) registered users, with an average of about 200 posts per day. New Registrations average about 200 members per month.

Please note that the discussion forum is made up of veterans just like you, they come to HadIt.com and its discussion forum from all over the world.   1. IMO/NEXUS LETTER

    Hi, I live in Houston, TX and I have a service-connected left knee and I also have marginal osteophytes, subchondral cysts, and sclerosis of the acetabular roof of my right hip. I also have arthritis and bone degeneration on my left hip and I also have severe disk degeneration in my lower back which, I was told is due to my left knee disability. But, no one will put that in writing in my file. On November the 1st I will have a complete right hip replacement. I wanted to know if anyone has a referral for a doctor in Houston, TX where I can get a nexus letter for a secondary condition claim? Its a lot of info online and overwhelming. Thanks

  2. Need Reccomendation For Imo Dr In Florida

    can someone please tell me the best way to find or look for a dr to get an imo for a claim thats at dro for ptsd in florida? im not sure how to look or search for a dr that helps vets and is familiar with va and disability claims? im guessing they dont have to actually be from the same state as me they just have to have me send them my medical records? any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance

  5. Confused about service connection

    While in service I was diagnosed with abnormal amounts of blood and protein in my urine with high cholesterol. An ultrasound of my kidneys and a scope of my urinary tract system was performed with no abnormalities found at that time. However the blood and protein was found in every physical (including exit physical) that was performed while in service. I now have CKD. My question is can I try to service connect the CKD to my abnormal lab results first discovered while in the Army? Thank you for any help clarifying.

So if you're mainly from the southwest or northwest or another part of America and want to see America. Make the trip to Vegas and drive down to his office.   9. demob exam

    Hey, I had a demob exam in 2003 and it was noted on my exam that I had issues with my c6 and c7 i.e my neck. Fast forward 7 years later I start having problems with my c6 and c7 so I filed a claim and VA denied it saying that it was not service connected I appealed it and got a supplement statement that said treatment of the condition was not continuous saying that to long of time had passed before I sought treatment. My question is there a VA regulation that deals with that issue? It was noted on my demob exam but the condition began to affect me 7 years later.

  11. Is there such thing as Blacklisted Doctors?

    Does the VA keep track of Doctors that do IME/IMO and blacklist them? Is it even legal? Just curious, because I had someone tell me they know who these Dr's. are and deny the claims. Even with medical evidence. I don't see any difference between a VA Dr. writing C&P's in a way to be denied or low-balled vs hiring an outside Dr. who writes ratings that are inline with the ratings system put forth by the VA.

  12. IMO/IME QUESTION

    Hello all. I read through many, many of the posts on IMOs/IMEs but have a question I did not see an answer to. I will be submitting a NOD on the ratings given for my knees and the denial on my lower back. Luckily there are some IME doctors within about a 100 mile radius I can drive to here in Northern VA. One of them is very close but he is a Chiropractor. He has an impressive list of certifications. My question - is it better to go to a full fledge MD or will a Chiropractor's IME and opinion carry as much weight?

  14. Submitted IMO Not Mentioned in Denial

    I recently had the VA deny my SA and HTN (via Higher Level Review). The rater mentions the VA IMO as the one of the reasons for my denial, but does not mention the IMO I had submitted. Should the rater have mention my IMO in the decision? I also do not understand how they say I did not have an event, disease, or injury in service. I was not treated for HTN while in the service but should have from 7/92 - 2/1995 my average blood pressure reading was 150/85 which was Stage 1 Hypertension (this was the old standards now it is considered Stage 2 Hypertension). I should not be penalized if the service failed to diagnose me for HTN (my IMO mentions that I was un-diagnosed …

    Morning all, I am new to the forum but been an avid reader and learner from the posts listed here on this site as well as other sites. My situation, I was able to get an IMO from the Ellis Clinic plus an Nexus from the VA Dr. and submitted in as a new claim and was wondering what are my chances in winning.   18. Depression IMO from MD?

    I was wondering what people thought of getting an IMO for depression from an MD like Dr Bash or Dr Anaise. Would the VA give weight to a well written mental health IMO that doesn't come from a Psychiatrist? I have an "basic" nexus letter from my board certified psychiatrist but it's thin on rationale and I'm afraid it won't be good enough. I'm considering spending the money on a professional letter from an expert in what the VA wants. Opinions? Thanks. JW in MN

  21. Is this FTCA worthy?

    I know this is in Berta's wheelhouse: I am receiving 100% TDIU (90% SC w/remaining based on IU) since 2014. Saw an APRN from 2010-2016. In that time they (APRN/MD) prescribed Lorazepam at first 2mgs (1mg twice a day). Had already fought VA solo for a decade in getting the diagnosis for SC PTSD and GERD back-dated and had tried a laundry list of prescribed meds but had had no luck. I was asking the APRN repeatedly about dependence on the Lorazepam, side-effects, etc...all documented. Was even told in a C&P by a PhD that the drug is "not addictive."   22. How Do IME/IMOs work?

    I have done research and found sources such as Dr. Bash, Valor4vet, and other doctors to help veterans with IME/IMOs and DBQs. However do we veterans have to visit them in person? Or do we submit all of our medical records and xrays and tests and they diagnose virtually?

    When a vet or widow says here that they have an IMO/IME , or significant medical opinion statements , that they feel support their claims .....I run with that....and base my advice here on believing they do have a strong independent medical opinion that covers the criteria here at hadit 0r very strong other evidence, -to make the opinion probative. But the fact is that many of these 'IMO/IMEs' claimants mention here , are not even close to what a true IMO/IME needs to contain.     Given my health, I'm going to go ahead and post this info: I had Clifford Vocational Services do my TDIU/vocational assessment. https://www.cliffordvocationalservices.com/ He has a video with he and Chris Attig (Veteran's log blog) on his site atm.
