ptsd Axis And Gaf Info And Explanation
I borrowed this from elsewhere, Patrick428 is the author of it in full. carlie "I will describe many common terms needed to be understood and given examples when warranted. R/O (Rule Out): Is a term found on either Axis I or II saying that there is not enough evidence to support the diagnosis at this time. Deferred: Is a way of a clinician saying, "I just met you and I am not sure if you have this or not." Usually found when the patient has first entered the mental health system or has been out of the mental health system for a long period of time. Secondary: Disorders that have manifested because of the first or primary disorder and also contribute to t…

? For The Parents
i joined a "mommy forum" some time ago. i enjoy talking about the kids and all that stuff but sometimes, those katty women get my goat! my anxiety gets so out of control i just start to cry! i didnt participate for almost 2 yrs cuz of that. seeing how im medicated now i thought i would give it another round. well, that was just stupid on my part.....my 10 yr old wants to try doing a pageant. her idea, not mine! i dont think she needs anyone to validate her beauty. but, as a good parent, u encourage ur kids to go their own way with ur guidance. so, i posed the question "how do u find legitimate pageants?" omg! u would have thought i was offering my child for sac…

ptsd "buddy" And "spousal" Letters
Just wondering if anyone knows how far back the VA started accepting "buddy" and "spousal" letters for PTSD claims? Also do they currently carry any weight in determining the rating for a claim? Thanks

ptsd "old Timer"; New To This
Hi all, I'm a Vietnam Vet who recently filed a PTSD claim and am having a hard time getting guidance. I originally filed my own disability application online at the beginning of October 2010. About a month and a half later I received a large envelope in the mail from my local DVA Regional Office asking me to fill out a bunch of paperwork, and also to notify me of an appointment to be examined by an outside psychiatrist. Mind you, I found out by casually requesting records from my VA medical center that I had been diagnosed over a year and a half ago with PTSD by a VA psychiatrist. I sat down with a VSO in my area trying to get some guidance about a week and a hal…

ptsd (New Guy) Help With Va Appeal, Etc....
So last year my brother and I lived in an apartment I owned. He was also a veteran. I was rated 50% for PTSD at the time, and two doctors told me to send in an appeal to raise my rating. My brother was going through a lot himself, he was diagnosed bipolar and the way he was treated in the military made him get a chapter 5-17 just to escape the abuse. He eventually commited suicide in my apartment a few months later and I missed an important PTSD appointment which was scheduled on the same time as he commited suicide so I missed it, and many appointments after that due to my brother. (I saw what he did so now I struggle with ptsd and memories of my brothers suicide). I …

ptsd ** Do I Have Ptsd? - ** HUGE - GRAPHIC TRIGGERS **
I served with SOCOM from 1984 to 1988. After 21 years of red tape, I was just awarded 10% disability for a back injury while active duty. While active duty with SOCOM, I experienced a couple of situations that have bothered me since. First was cleaning up the wreckage (including charred bodies) of a Blackhawk Helicopter crash at Fort Bragg. I was initially told to take video of the crash (I was a 84F combat videographer), but after arriving, I was told to help in recovery. I remember seeing one charred body, but the eyes were not burnt and they were looking at me from the wreckage. I thought the guy might be alive, but when I went to see, he was obviously dead. When I …
