ptsd Ptsd Claim And Psychosis
I have a question relating to my PTSD claim. I experience auditory and olfactory hallucinations frequently and my psychiatrist told me that was not part of PTSD. Should I file a separate claim for psychosis then? I don't know if there is a psychosis NOS category or something secondary to PTSD.

ptsd An Awfully Long Wait - Ptsd Claim
Hey Gang, was wondering if anyone could shed some light on why my claim may be taking an unusually long duration. I enlisted in early 2004- 2012 in the Army as a Medic. After a successful 8 year career and 18 months in the sandbox, I was honorably discharged. In early 2013, I filed for a PTSD compensation claim while receiving care at a VA facility. I was diagnosed with PTSD, Anxiety, Hearing Loss, Tinnitus, Vision Loss, Headaches, TBI, Loss of consciousness secondary to Blast injuries from blast within 30 meters, sleep apnea, and a bunch of others. I filed for compensation for all of these, since I had the diagnosis codes attached to my file as active …

ptsd Ptsd C&p Exam Within Va Clinic Where He Is A Patient.
My husband got a call yesterday from a VA person to review the items in his claim. She was in the process of ordering his C&P exams. She told him that the PTSD exam would be in the same clinic at the VA where he currently goes for treatment. Background: He was formally diagnosed in the past year and has attended the 10 week PTSD group sessions, the 6 week Anger Management sessions and is now in one on one counseling with his doctor who he is pretty comfortable with. He was in college thru VocRehab as a result of service connected bilateral knee injuries. However, he has had to drop out because problems with focus & memory, panic attacks and other anxiety issues…

ptsd Ptsd Claim Opinion.
Hello all and thanks in advance for any help. So I'll try and make this as clear and concise as I can. I'm 30% SC already for injuries that happened in the military. I put in my ptsd claim in 2010 and was given a 10 minute c&p that was terrible. I was originally denied for lack of stressor event proof. I put in my NOD and received another letter that said denied for lack of evidence of stressor event. So that's twice I've been denied because of lack of proof the events happened. One of my problems with it is that the reason I'm SC for the 30% is because of 2 separate incidents that happened in the military that caused and then made the PTSD worse. The first inci…

ptsd Navy4Life - New Member
Hi there! For me my journey started in May 2013 and in July 2013 I received three separate C&P's for most of my contentions EXCEPT my claim for MH. I sat and sat until June 2014 when I got partially S/C for some contentions, denied on a few and the rest were "deferred" to include my MH claim which on my BBE stated "VA examination" - so I sat and sat and then I started MH treatment and then around August I got a call from a coordinator at the RO's office wanting to help me amend my MH claim to add PTSD (secondary to personal assault). Then I sat and sat and last week final had my C&P Exam which is posted in the C&P forum. It was for my MH claim to include m…

I Hope I Done The Right Thing
My DAV VSO submitted a claim on my behalf for depression secondary to tinnitus and hearing loss, my only SC currently. It is nearly impossible to get in touch with him and I can't take time away from work too often. That claim has not shown up yet on Ebenifits, I don't know how long it should take. Over the last to weeks my depression, and it is more too it than the tinnitus, has overwhelmed me terribly. So today I contacted the Vet Crisis Center and entered into a lengthy chat that I finally gave into letting them contact me. I hope this was the right thing to do. I had no way of letting my DAV VSO know. I just knew I had to do something. The lady that called was super …

Psychology Thesis Of Ptsd, Please Help Me.
Hello everyone, I just want to introduce myself and hopefully have some help. I am a college student who is writing my senior research project on PTSD. I am writing about resilience and the social construct of the military, and trying to find a way to lower the risk of our soldiers obtaining PTSD. I have created a survey in which I ask anyone who is willing to help with this research to take. In this survey I will not require your name or any information that may lead to who you are. And if the survey creates some unpleasant feelings, please stop and do not push yourself. And for the moderators, I apologize if this is not allowed, if it is not please message …

ptsd Ptsd C&p Exam Results
Good Evening Everyone I have gotten a lot of good info from this forum and was just looking for an opinion of what my rating might be based on my C&P exam from last week. My guess is 30% for sure, but is there any chance of 50?, There are glaring errors in this exam (i didn't fire on the vehicle with women and children in it, the Iraqis did, i just witnessed the event and aftermath, I didn't recieve a CAB, i had a CIB), and a bunch of other details that he didn't transfer correctly from my files. Since i had submitted a stressor statement ato the VA allready, it seems he just reviewed those and only asked me the questions on the DBQ.He clearly didn't review any…

ptsd Possibly Dumb Questions About The Process
Good Morning, I have an appointment at the end of this month at the VA hospital to attend a PTSD clinic where I think I start the process of getting my initial diagnosis for PTSD. The appointment, I'm told, will take 3-4 hours. That's all I know about it. So, a couple of questions... 1) Can I expect a diagnosis right away (if I have it)? I have no doubt I do (medic in Viet Nam in 1969-70). It seems I need a diagnosis before going to the local Vet Center or VA hospital for treatment. 2) I see a lot of posts where vets go through multiple C & Ps. Is this normal? 3) Finally, I intend to finally get treatment but will the VA wait for a C & P u…

ptsd Do You Need All The Symptoms To Get The Ptsd Rating?
Hi all, I was wondering if anyone knew how the VA choose what percentage to place a veteran in for their award. If the Total occupational box is checked, does that necessary means 100 percent? Also do you have to have all the symptons stated under that percentage or is it based on which one that you have the most marks under? Looking for inputs from anyone????... Thank you?
