ptsd Ptsd/mst Denial
Thank you in advance for sensitivity to these questions. I entered the army in 1976 and the two years I spent in the military was nothing but sexual harassment, intimidation, sexual battery and even rape. Reporting to my superiors what was happening to me only made it worse; in fact, my superiors were very often the ones coercing, intimidating and assaulting me. It is gut-wrenching to think or speak about all the horrible things that happened to me, but I will say that I was so despondant and desperate to get out of the army and away from all the abuse I was suffering that I actually married the soldier who raped and impregnated me. Suicide and abortion were the alternati…

Just Got Call About 100% Iu For Ptsd But...
Hello all. I am new here and I am posting this on behalf of my husband to help in a situation that we may encounter.I always have to be prepared and my husband is very severe and can be unpredictable. My husband's appeal for PTSD had just been decided and they called yesterday to tell us that they decided for him to recieve 100% IU, also that he is declared mentally incompetant and that I would handle the finances as I do with social security as well. I really wish they would have spoken to me because he had a very hard time explaining it and just said they would send it in the mail anyway :-/ My concern lies here though: he was 70% for PTSD and had not worked at all…

ptsd Why Continue To Go To Ptsd Clinic?
I been in treatment for nearly two years and I am stuck at trauma processing. Today I told my social worker that I don't think I'll ever be ready to talk about my trauma again. She wants me to just sit in on group and listen and see what happens. What should I do if group doesn't help? Do I keep wasting my social worker's time just to keep an up to date record for the RO, or what happens if I just go to get my refills?

ptsd 100% For Ptsd P&t But Employable
At a recent visit to the VA I was told buy a employee that I should be unemployable because of the 100% rating for PTSD. He referred me to another office to ask about this and possibly get it corrected. I went there and was told according to my paperwork I'm considered employable. My paperwork says employability is a moot point. So which is true? I remember reading somewhere that if you are 100% for PTSD you are unemployable? I dont work and have not worked since leaving the army over two years now. How does becoming unemployable benefit me?

My Va Dr. Call
I just received a call from my V. A. Dr. And it boils down to Her mentioning to me that treatment has not Work, and since I no longer can take the stress, she is sending me to a Vet center. Has anyone ever been at this cross road ? What about not been in treatment ? The more I am away I think It will hurt me. I don't want to go over and over my vulnerability of the event, that just balls me up in a fetus Position for a day or so, then it is on my mind.

ptsd Another C&p Exam
I had my C&P exam November 2011 and received a rating of 50% for PTSD March 2012. just received in the mail that I have a another C&P exam this month with mental health. Any ideas why they would do another exam when it has only been 6 months since my last exam? I am in treatment and my symptoms have gotten worse but I haven't asked for an increase.

ptsd Ptsd And Ebenefits
I have been watching ebenefits for a long time on my claims. It state, need more evidents from me. Well I called the 1-800 and spoke to a nice lady. I ask her what else could they need, they have my DD214 showing I was on the ground in Viet Nam, and all the medals and awards I got. They also know my MOS and a copy of the eval from the MH facility from the VA in Columbus GA. Her reply was "I DON'T KNOW" and that is just a standard reply while waiting on a decision. She also said it would be about 8 months. I reminder it is showing up to 02/2013. Heck who knows what going on in the VA.

I Was Previously Denied In 2009 For Not Providing Evidence. New Claim In 2011... Help.
Hi all, first post here. Let me say thanks for the help before I get started, if any. I was pressured by my family and friends back in 2009 to "go to the VA to get help". I didn't really know what the VA was all about, granted I was a younger vet who just returned from Combat in 2006 with the Marines trying to transfer into civilian life. (which would prove to be harder than we all thought). I figured they meant filing a claim for my PTSD (and not treatment), so I did. I was given a series of letters asking me to account for my evidence of PTSD. Not wanting to deal with all that nonsense, I threw it out like a true jarhead, continued on my way, and eventually go…

ptsd 149 Days & Counting
Well, it's been 149 days since I submitted my claim for PTSD. I've added my VA Psych diagnosis for PTSD & Panic Disorder (GAF 47) to my file as well as my Psych treatment notes (I go to the VA once a week for the OEF/OIF Group therapy class) and once a month to visit with my psychologist. Don't know why it's taking so long, and when I call my DAV rep, he doesn't answer my phone calls. I'm still taking my meds (40mg/day of Citalopram & up to 3- 0.5mg/Xanax a day as needed) and going to ALL of my VA counseling sessions. Is anyone else experiencing a long wait for an initial rating? Thanks, OEF 21B

Oh Boy!?
My mind feels like a maze, tomorrow is my re-evaluation, and the way I feel is confuse, at 100% my thinking is only down is the road; But, my state of mind concerns me more. Also tomorrow looks like my last visit with my first Dr. He has been on and mostly off my treatment. I feel sad in loosing Him. Plus my group called PTSD GRADUATES, ask me to take a break for a while, sensing that I might need more basic care. Looking at my schedule ending in November, V. A. Has giving me a new Dr. For a new group. I have a problem in that I want to be close to the V.A. Group, but I don't want to go back thru PE, nor CPT, or IN VIVO, which I have done, and do not want to open u…

ptsd Ptsd Claim In 2008 Denied, 2011 Went Through And Rated 30%
I was denied for my claim in 2008 due to lack of evidence. In 2010 I opened a new claim and eventually was awarded 30% in 2011. I have a combat action ribbon that was in my record at time of denial. Wouldnt that have been enough to set me up for a c&p exam? Is there anyway to get back paid till the original date I put in for claim?

I applied for PTSD in 1999 and was denied. Reapplied in 2000 and denied again and told to never contact them again. I applied again in 2010 (ten years later) and was awarded 30% from the 2010 date. Can I file for the lost 10 years??? Thanx, Slowlane
