ptsd Establishing Service Connection
Establishing Service Connection For Veterans Affairs Disability Compensation Before November 2000, when the VCAA was enacted, veterans had to obtain a medical diagnosis of a current disability on their own. The VA was not generally obligated to help them in obtaining this medical evidence. Some veterans, who could not afford a private doctor, were placed in a no win situation. They could not receive disability compensation until they submitted a medical diagnosis of their current disability; they could not get the VA to provide them with a free medical examination to obtain this diagnosis because veterans who already had service-connect…

Give it your best advice First, I had my first appointment with Clinical specialist, really it never happen. The Dr, got me in ask me some question, gave me more meds, and said she didn't want me to get into the PTSD trama until I get my personal life in order. She directed the Specialist to do suicide prevention sheet on me. This is because I told her what I feel is that the amounts pills she gives me, gave me the idea, that pills are the way to commit suicide. So off to the Mental Health Specialist. He does this sheet on suicide for me, and made a statement that I have sound rational, and know the difference from Right and Wrong. Ok whatever that means I said that …

hypertension Ptsd
I got my papers back from the VA denied,( hypertension, ibs, gerd, ed ) all denied not connected to Ptsd with Depression and Anxiety. They talked like I did not have PTSD until I was DX with it in 2006 as if I had no problems with PTSD before then. I sent them a copy of the report from Dr. Boscarino Senior Scientist for New York Academy of Medication stating that PTSD causes thes problems and a letter from my Dr. stating that in his openion these were as least as likely as not caused from PTSD with Depression and Anxiety.

Finally Submitted It All....i Think.
well, at least i got to see the veterans assistance office without a wait. dude tried to hose me. sd i didnt have a claim. when i pointed out to him i certainly did have more than half a chance since it was clearly documented in smr's, he changed his tone. but still tried to discourage me. tried to hand my file back to me and sd go to the american legion. conversation went like this: me - "u know, they have folks at VARO much better paid and educated to make decisions on whether or not i have a claim. that is a decision way over ur paygrade, chief. so, why dont u stay within ur paygrade, point me in the direction i need to go and let me finish up since i have l…

ptsd What Can I Expect If I Submit This To The Va For My Ptsd
Following being in a tent that was within 100 yards of the Marine Corps Barracks in Beirut Lebanon when it was blown up by a suicide bomber in 1983. I was one of the 6 medics on scene when all of our medical officers except for one dentist and the rest of the medics were killed in the bombing. I was close enough that when the bomb went off, I was thrown approximately 40 feet and when I stood up I was totally deaf for 2 days. For the first 16 or so hours I first worked in a triage station patching up the approximately 60 severly injured Marines & Sailors using new t-shirts and underwear from our px store for "make due" bandages since our medical supplies were mostly b…

ptsd Spoke To The Bva
Spoke to the BVA today and they tell me a letter is on the way ref my PTSD claim as the decision was made yesterday. Now since they made the decision yesterday and are mailing out the letter today and am pretty certain that it is a denial. They are sending my ankle portion back to the AMC so I guess the Nexus letter/IMO and repackaging the evidence never hurts. Wondering after 11 years and am very drained on this fight. Have a diagnosis and take my meds for PTSD and comorbid depression. Should I hire the lawyer for the NOD, or just file a claim for Depression? Mike

ptsd Ptsd Secondary And Aggravated
Has anyone won a claim based upon PTSD's link to a eating disorder? I started stuffing my face right before I left the service and I have not stopped since. I even had the Lap Band surgery, and it did help me lose some weight, but did not stop my eating. Because of my weight, I have developed Obstructive Sleep Apnea, Ashma, Lazy Leg (even under medication, I jerk, kick, thrash around), Hypothyroidism, etc etc etc. What is the best way to link this together with my PTSD? IMOs from Medical Specialist? Papa

ptsd Would Any Of This Help Me Qualify For Ptsd?
What I would like to know is would any of this help qualify me for PTSD and Sleep Apnea? (I was just diagnosed with Sleep apnea and will be given a CPAP within the week) Also would it help me in any other way with my VA disability? If so, how? How can I prove tinnitus with no records? Sometimes the ringing is so loud it wakes me from a dead sleep. Following being in a tent that was within 100 yards of the Marine Corps Barracks in Beirut Lebanon when it was blown up by a suicide bomber in 1983.
