i got the brown envelope today saying that they are expediting my claim as requested. i was so excited! then, i read down further and notice they r asking for a bunch of info that was already sent in. makes me feel as if i am just being dismissed in a way. is this standard procedure? did they NOT look at my packet i sent in?? for instance, here is one of the things they say they need: * we need evidence showing that the following condition existed from military service to the present time: ptsd due to sexual abuse. ok, i sent in the ER visit for the rape kit, the results of the rape kit, the mhc visit due to the mst....how much more evidence do they need????…

ptsd Complex Ptsd
When a death incident was reported that the DoD or Captain covered up, for what ever reason, the person who witnessed the incident, especially if the person was involved in some way, will undoubtedly be stuck in an indelible loop within the unconscious mind that will haunt, for the duration of the victims life. Add several of these misreported incidents and the loop becomes complex. Complex PTSD is not even being diagnosed by the VA or DoD. The VA has left the VET with the "just give us one stressor" proof. Put a cucumber in a vat of brine. When is the exact point at which the cucumber becomes a pickle, and prove it. The VET with Complex PTSD, is left in a li…

17 Questions
Went for my meeting with my psychologist today. In the middle of our hour together he gave me a questionaire to fill out if I didn't mind. Seventeen questions to be rated from 1 to 5. One being rated as not at all to 5 being all the time. He had a name for this form, he called it L--- something, can't recall, that should be number question 18. Well I scored a 74 and he said the higher your score the more distressed you are. If you scored a 10 you should be on the beach somewhere. I'm not sure what to think about this whole thing. Bill

ptsd Ptsd - New Claim 60% Vet
Hello I'm currently service connected at 60%. I've recently filed a claim for PTSD, depression & anxiety that is associated with my PTSD. My goal is to obtain IU or 100% total combined rating for my conditions. My PTSD is well documented by a Psychiatrist by written letter, same with the depression and anxiety. He states that my condition is linked to a traumatic event that occurred while in the service. I have in service medical records as proof of the traumatic event in writing. I want to know what my chances are for obtaining a 100% or IU. I ask because I'm not requesting IU. I was told that I could not request IU unless I have one disability at 40 or greate…

ptsd Nod Question
Over the weekend I received an unofficial letter from the DAV stating that I was rated 30% for PTSD. Everything else was denied. If, I wanted to do a NOD on the things that were denied and amend others what affect would this have on my PTSD rating? Would the VA hold up the entire claim until it was all settled? Papa

ptsd Va Sux..nothing New
I know everyone here is sick of the unjust treatment of vets. It just blows my mind how the military just uses you up and then when you develop problems from things that happen to you in the line of duty, they toss you aside with little assistance. I'm tired of fighting the VA just to get money to get by on. I have PTSD that was diagnosed when I was on active duty. I haven't been able to work for almost 2 years now, because it is difficult for me to even be around people. I see a therapist twice a month currently. I filed a claim for disability from the va over a year ago. Of course they low balled me at 30%. I currently have an appeal pending, and i'm waiting to hear fro…

? For The Parents
i joined a "mommy forum" some time ago. i enjoy talking about the kids and all that stuff but sometimes, those katty women get my goat! my anxiety gets so out of control i just start to cry! i didnt participate for almost 2 yrs cuz of that. seeing how im medicated now i thought i would give it another round. well, that was just stupid on my part.....my 10 yr old wants to try doing a pageant. her idea, not mine! i dont think she needs anyone to validate her beauty. but, as a good parent, u encourage ur kids to go their own way with ur guidance. so, i posed the question "how do u find legitimate pageants?" omg! u would have thought i was offering my child for sac…

ptsd Example Of Va Using Childhood Evidence Against Mh Claims
I am only posting this information to show a clear cut example of the how's and why's VBA can and will use information concerning your childhood experiences, against a claim for service connection of mental health disabilities. I - in no way,am stating I agree or disagree with this process and/or the outcome of this individual claim. I post it only for example to help veterans understand another part of what evidence, decision makers weigh during the claims process. carlie http://www.va.gov/vetapp09/files2/0916076.txt Service Connection Service connection means that the facts establish that a particular injury or disease resulting in disabilit…
