lumbosacral New To This Board
Hello everyone. As you can see, I am new to this board and website. I am hoping that someone can guide me in the right direction. I have three things, the first being my service-connected disability for my back, my acute sinusitis, and also possibly and hopefully, a claim for PTSD. I will start out with the most severe conditon, which is my back. I injured my back in a fall back in 1996 or 1997 while in FT. Lee, Va. moving wall lockers from one building to another. Since that time, my back has gradually gotten worse. I used to be able to pass a PT test, but now i struggle to run or even jog for longer than three minutes. What I feel is intense pressure on my lower …

ptsd Ptsd - Substance Use Disorders....women
Alcohol Use Disorders (AUDs) and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Treatment for Victims of Partner Violence - NCT00607412-92103 (Clinical Trial 180889) The goal of this study is to evaluate a psychotherapy for PTSD and substance use disorders among women who have experienced domestic violence. ptsd Ptsd Eval Part 2
as if it isnt stressful enough having to relive every detail of the trauma, she tells me today that we didnt make it thru all the questions and need to come back for a 3rd part. thats ok, im a big girl.....i can deal with it. but nothing prepared me for the emotional strain it put on me detailing every second of the act 20 yrs ago. i was so overwhelmed when i left that i threw up. she asked me to bring in my discharge papers this time and so i did. i asked her after the appt how it was looking for me on my claim. she sd that even if the report of this is "missing" now, that everything documented in my other records clearly shows the pattern of a trauma taking place.…

ptsd Confused About "secondaries"
Hi Folks - thanks for all your help and advice in the past I have PTSD at 50% at present. I filed a claim for IU and at the same time consideration for increase on my PTSD rating. I received a call from my VSO at VA (wasn't happy with my outside rep so filed directly with VA). Very nice and very helpful actually. After reviewing my VA med records, he sent me a cover letter and forms etc, for more info (21-4138) for "Depression secondary to PTSD" and "Suicidal tendencies (claimed as emotional problems) secondary to PTSD". Note that this is pertaining to my IU claim and not, my PTSD. So with that in mind, I need help/advice about wording to not have my "depression" i…

ptsd Ptsd Claim And Rating Board
I checked on the status of a claim for PTSD increase in IRIS, and was told the claim was soon going to the Rating Board. I'm new on this forum, and still new to the VA system. Can someone explain what the Rating Board is? I thought the claims were rated and decided by RVSRs. Is the Rating Board an added step...is it in each Regional Office? And, most importantly, does it add to the time we must wait. Thanks for reading this...thanks for any responses...and thanks for letting me join!

ptsd Ptsd And Dental
I am 30% SC for PTSD and have filed a NOD to hopefully increase the %. In addition to the PTSD I grind my teeth (Bruxism) really bad and have done so since I returned from RVN back in 1968. My family dentist fixed me up with a night guard about 4 years ago which seems to have stabilized my condition but unfortunatly the damage is already done, teeth worn down almost to gums. At the time I filed my PTSD claim thru the DAV I wasn't aware that Bruxism could have been brought on by my PTSD and my family dentist is willing to write a letter for me stating that in his opinion it was more likely than not that the PTSD contributed to my Bruxism. At the time I filed m…
