ptsd 1-Diagnosed Ptsd, Mdd, 1992/2007. 2-Medical Records Verify Stressor. 3-Nexus Letter From Va Psycologist And Treatment For Last 5 Years
have been awarded 5 honorable discharges and have been seeing va psychologist last 5 years for ptsd, was first diagnosed in 1992 one month after service seperation. have been on meds since beginning treatment, social security disabled, submitted c-file and 6 weeks later approved, reason ptsd. still va refused to acknowledge service connection. medical records show attempted suicide, explosion, eletricution, personal assaults, and concussion w/ ptsd symptoms. psychiatric c&p took all of 7 minutes and states personality disorder, and that the explosion and assaults during service were not of a significant value as to have caused ptsd. now have a lawyer, board certif…

ptsd New To Hadit.com, New Ptsd Claim
I have been reading this site for most of the evening and I've got a tremendous amount of help. I have a few questions specific about my claim. First some background: I had my first MH appointment after an appointment with my primary care doctor when I mentioned some of the problems I have been having (nightmares, night sweats, sleeplessness, irritability, etc.). A few days later I had a phone consult with a social worker where they asked me about 50 or so questions, not specific to anything I had experienced in service, just general mental health questions, (how are you feeling on a scale of 1-10, do you feel depressed, do you want to hurt yourself or anyone else? Etc) …

ptsd Changing "disorder" To "injury"
I just read an article were they are discussing changing the word "disorder" to "injury". Can some one please explain to me where PTSD is an injury? I have fallen on my head several times, and would consider those to be injuries. Just lost on who sets around and thinks of these things. Papa

ptsd Ptsd "deferred"
Good Afternoon all, I was recently upgraded from 30 to 50% last month for some other conditions. However, the PTSD that I filed under the "new" regulations have been "deferred". On the docs submitted to me to explain the deferrment, it notes "Eligibility to treatment for PTSD". I submitted the documents back on 2/9/11, regarding dx of PTSD while in service, along with other evidence tying my SC for it (I was denied by the VA for SC in 1997), and also had my QTC on 3/14, but the VA stated on the docs that my claim for PTSD was deferred because they need additional information. So I truly don't get the deferral; I have complied with the VA giving them…

ptsd Hello From Virginia
I am 70 percent service connected for PTSD/Major Depression. Flunked CBT twice. The VA tells me my last option with them is Exposure Therapy then they are done with me. Can't say I blame them too much. My question is what should I expect? Rehashing in CBT only brought up more events and one hospitalization on the psych ward. Is this a good thing? What do I need to be concerned about before going into this? Thanks, Bernie

ptsd Debatable Injury - Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
Debatable injury - post-traumatic stress disorder Greg Jaffe May 7, 2012 "WASHINGTON: It has been called shell shock, battle fatigue, soldier's heart and, most recently, post-traumatic stress disorder, or PTSD. Now, military officers and psychiatrists are embroiled in a heated debate over whether to change the name of a condition as old as combat to post-traumatic stress injury. Military officers and some psychiatrists say dropping the word ''disorder'' in favour of ''injury'' will reduce the stigma that stops troops from seeking treatment." ptsd Denied Ptsd?
You can find the exact verbage under the "Success" forum. However, my question is this: I was denied for PTSD/depression due to no evidence of current disability. Not sc, no 0% under what they decided on. BUT on another page it says I am sc'd for adjustment disorder with depressed mood for purposes of treatment as I was diagnosed with PTSD/depression in 2001. (joined in 1999) I have never seen any diagnosis of adjustment d/o in my medical records so this must be something the c&p dr said. However, what does this mean? I have not even a 0% rating in my paperwork for this - but I can be seen for it? They gave it to me based on my C&P but denied my claim? Can an…

ptsd Dh's Big Brown Envelope Came.... I Don't Know What To Think.
He's at work. I called & told him it came - he said open it, but he has a meeting so he'll call me back to hear what it says. They gave him 100% for PTSD as a new rating. He's working, and has been all along. He's a civil engineer, and admittedly, they've been giving him less and less responsibility over the past couple years. He's got the most seniority and experience, so he's kind of the grey-beard who points out problems waiting to happen, and answers the questions of the young'ns when they get stuck. He likes his job. He gets into it with people, but he's working hard on not getting into conflicts. Ack, I'm babbling. Will he have to stop working becau…
