ptsd Decision Letter
well I got letter from the VA today. They said I did not respond back to a letter they wrote me 8/9/11 there fore my claim was denied and final. I never got a letter from the VA to respond to. But here is the clinker, I never appied for any of them, my VA Dr must have written a request. I do know she asked a lot of question about my MOS job while in Viet Nam.I was a K9 handler/point man. However, I got an appointment to attend PTSD group session, which I did attend. I also ask for an appointment to see a head dr.(still waiting on that). I will go to my local VSO Monday and see what is going on and file a CUE. Any suggestions on what I need to ask /say or do? THANKS

ptsd Moderator, Please Help
My brain must've been full, cause I deleted my PTSD post by accident 3 times before I finally wrote it out in MS Word and pasted it. But one of the two threads is empty, so I guess I posted my actual thoughts by mistake! Please delete the empty one? Thank you!!

ptsd Va Psychiatrist Dx Of My Husband - Triggers
DH finally got his Progress notes, at least up to the first week of October. His VA psychiatrist has Dx'd him with Chronic PTSD, as well as OCD and Panic Disorder, and that it's definitely a result of his in-service (Line of Duty, we have the paper to prove it!) MVA where he nearly burned to death. Here are the Axis's: Axis I - Post traumatic Stress Disorder, Depressive Disorder NOS Axis II - Personality Disorder NOS, with dependent traits Axis III - See past medical history Axis IV - Stressors include chronic pain stemming from severe burns and chronic psychiatric illness. Axis V - GAF of 50. Now I know that Personality Disorder can be very bad, even tho…

ptsd Ptsd Increase
Last month I received an increase from 50 to 70% for PTSD. I have been going to the Vet Center for over two years. I only go once a month and I can't stand going there. Just before I got my increase for PTSD I told my VSO at the DAV that I wanted to pack it in at the Vet Center. She said you don't have to go if you don't want to. I said that I am getting nothing out of it. I still go to the VA for meds every two months and I think that is enough for me. The last time I was at the Vet Center I told my guy that I had a C&P coming up for PTSD and he said why? I said for an increase and he kind of scoffed at that.Well all I can say is say is F*** him. I'm finished wit…

I have read evey statement on here from other veterans. I have asked questions and have gotten some very good replys back. I guess tomorrow will tell, if it is a yea or nae. I have things to say and show, but will they listen or just go thru the motion of listering to me. I know they have questions to ask, but will it be base strickly on the questions? I will just be glad when it is over and I have this monkey off my back, and maybe I can sleep more than a few hours at a time. Sorry about the rant,…

ptsd Stresser Evidence Ptsd - Mst
Hi, this is my first post ever and I have a question, but here is some background info: I received a general under honorable discharge for MMD in 2008 and filed a claim for PTSD / MST & Depression this July. I have depression and a hospitalization for severe post-partum depression (The baby was born 13 months after the assault but is my husband's) documented in my service treatment records but unfortunately did not report my MST. I've been going for counseling at the VAMC, am diagnosed with PTSD due to MST and MDD and have just started PET. I didn't do or submit anything for my claim until last week when they called to schedule a C&P exam. I'm pretty stre…

ptsd Ptsd Secondary To Tbi
I know you probably should always just submit a claim but I have to ask. If I am currently rated for TBI and a neuro-psych exam states PTSD and depression in the findings, should I file for depression and PTSD also? Or will it be considered being rated for the same thing or some other form of VA trickery? I know they are 2 different conditions but how does the VA treat it? Thanks
