3. Lost Part Of My Skull

   Back ground I’m still on active duty, almost 19 years total and next summer I’ll be looking for a job. I want to get into the federal system (GS) system and I’m concern about how a disability rating will affect my future job prospects. Accident Appox 15 years ago I lost a 2”x3” piece of skull due to an accident and the doctor told me I also suffered a small amount of brain damage from an accident that occurred on base. I had 2 surgeries, the first to remove bone chips around my brain and the second, 6 months later to close in the hole, appox 2”x3”. 4. Tbi In Rating Board

   I, as most you, received my letter for increase of my current TBI rating. I am currently rated at 10 percent for headaches and 10 percent for the plate in my head. I was sent to see a Doctor and a pshycologist for my examination. Here is where I am becoming impatient and wondering if it normal. My case went to the ratings board on July 28th and still I have no decision. Is this normal or should I be concerned? Has anyone received an increase for their TBI? Thank you in advance for your help.

7. Tbi And Neuroendocrine Disorders

   Among other things, these men may have low testosterone serum levels but have gonadotropins in the normal or low range. May have weight gain, loss of libido, loss of muscle mass/tone and lack of energy. Ask physician to order blood tests for hormone levels as they may overlook this and erroneously attribute problems to psych when it's actually from a physical cause. That ED may indeed be "in your head". Anyone have experience with a VA claim for neuroendocrine disorders of any type secondary to TBI?

9. Tbi Diagnosis

   So today i had an appt with my Primary VA DR, who by the way is from India and speaks with broken english. I asked him for a few referrals, one being a TBI referral. i was denied due to not having a professional diagnosis. The Dr. told me that a TBI, is when you receive a blunt force blow to the head hence the term Traumatic. So we went back and forth, and finally i had had enough and told him if i dropped a concussion grenage in the room with us and we sustain no physcial injuries if he thought his brain would be affected. The sad fact is he still did not understand. Frigin idiot. i am so fed up with this guy. But finally he added the referral to my list after i told him…

10. American Veterans With Brain Injuries (avbi)

    American Veterans with Brain Injuries (AVBI) American Veterans with Brain Injuries (AVBI) was organized in 2004 as a grassroots effort whose mission is to offer support to the families of American Servicemembers and Veterans who have suffered traumatic brain injuries. The main focus of this group seems to be for the care and support of TBI Veterans and family members. There is a forum and live chat room at the site. The website is a small portion of what they do, wich is advocating for TBI Veterans. They are non-profit and use volunteers only, no paid employees.

11. Tbi Re-evaluation Question

    I had received a letter informing me of a possible increase from my current 10% rating on my TBI. I just dont know how to go about requesting this. I have searched the forum but im new to this and cant find the information im looking for. I dont know what form and what to write to request a re evaluation or who to mail or fax it to. 12. ptsd Newbie To Forum And Looking For Help

    My husband got out of the military in 05. He spent 12 years active duty with a total of 21 eyars with his reserve and guard time. he spen over a year in Iraq in from Feb. 04 to March. 05. He initially received a rating for a knee injury he recived from and explosion in Iraq but several months later after passing out (I thought he had a stroke!)at our dinner table and being hospitalized for over a week, and numerours testing he was diagnosed with "neurocardiosyncope". Told him nothing he can really do just make sure he eats 3 meals a day , drinks a lot of gatorade, avoid stress, caffeine, and plenty of rest.
