lumbosacral Head injury in service I just remembered, ironically....
Hello all you wonderful folks! I just found some of my service medical records the other day and in it was a LOD from where I suffered a head injury while training. I had (no pun intended) completely forgot about it. I dont feel that there was ever a diagnosis provided but it did knock me out and I was out for quite some time, so I'm told. I dont really remember much after that. I was told that the doc that was seeing me said that I was out for a while ordered bed rest WITHOUT sleep and to follow up the next morning. I did not go to the hospital but I guess she was asking me several questions to which I had inconsistent responses for like what is todays date? Presid…

tdiu TBI
Severity of my Tbi is not a question and it's also SC. It's been rated at 70% in 2010 and took an appeal to grant SC. The judge also ordered me a C&P for an increase. If it is increased to 100% by it self and if I am still able to work can i? I know I can't if its TDIU which I do not want at this time, currently 90%. I know I'm looking for a job were my memory won't hinder my ability to do the job, nothing in aviation apparently. This is what is in the hospitak record, "cerebral contusion with diffuse axonal injury to bilateral frontal and temporal lobes" would this be able to apply for a bilateral issue? I know its considered bilateral in my brain left and right fron…

ptsd TBI screen positive but no follow up
I've read some other thread with kind of the same situation going on. Keep a long story short here. While on active duty I started seeing a doctor after a deployment and he was treating me for list of things. Post concussion syndrome was one of these things. This was 2009 and TBI was sort of being talked about but I didn't ever put to much thought into it. I was more worried about being able to sleep and wake up with the prescriptions I was taking. I believed that my only problem at the time was nightmares and sleeping. I enrolled in the VA in 2010 and had a TBI screening in 2013 that was positive. I vaguely remember a few questions about what sort of blasts I was ex…

Tbi With Migraines
Hello, I am 30 % service connected ( cervical and pelvis ) injuries. I was involved in an accident where a tree hit me in the back of the head, I have had migraines ever since. The accident was in 1989. I have been seeing the VA ever since. They have been treating my migraines along with associated symptoms of the neck/head pain. My question is how do I file? Do I file for TBI or Migraines? I have heard horror stories of people filing for TBI and being denied but they get SC for Migraines at 10%, or they file for Migraines and if granted get like 50%. I just want to do it right the first time. I have all my VA records along with all my private records from Neurolgist, P…

Narcolepsy and TBI
I was recently diagnosed with Narcolepsy after experiencing sleep issues over the last 12 years. 12 years ago I was injured by a hand grenade (close Proximity) and am currently service connected %70 for mostly shrapnel wounds allover my body, nerve damage, and an additional %10 for PTSD. I do not have a service connection for a TBI and did not know what TBI was at the time of checking out and filing a claim with the VA. Over the last 12 years I have had issues with sleep and sought treatment during that timespan. I was referred to a new sleep doctor who tested me for Narcolepsy as well as Apnea, which came back positive for Narcolepsy. His opinion was this diagnosis' …

TBI Pyramyding?
I have a question and I would appreciate info from anybody. I had a vehicle accident stateside (while on duty) about a year and a half before I was deployed. They told me I had a concision but later the VA told me it was a TBI. The VA sent me to a TBI C&P and I was rated at 0%. I also have real bad migraines from the accident. The VA decided I was rated 30% (I think this is a low ball, I told the rater that I have several migraines a month that are deliberating). I also have tinnitus, can't smell or taste all due to the accident, that I haven't been rated for. Well I found out that my local VA has a TBI clinic. Been going to my local VA for other reasons since 20…
