Still Have A Hard Head
I have been falling down more often, but I can usually catch myself, or make the fall not so painful. Tonight, I stumbled, and tripped over a water spigot. I hit both knees and elbows on the concrete sidewalk, plus my forehead. I'm starting to feel like these people screaming, I've fallen and I can't get up . Thank goodness I have a hard head, but that is the way we come in Harlan County. The Parkinson's is really getting me down. Papa

"Due to Agent Orange, veteran awarded $459,700 GARY HUFFENBERGER Staff Writer A local Vietnam War veteran has been awarded a $459,700 benefit because of their exposure to the herbicide Agent Orange during the war and the later onset of ischemic heart disease. Did You See, Touch, Or Handle Ao At Ascom Depot Korea?
Previously I had sought information here as confirming the presence of AO at ASCOM Depot near Bupyong, South Korea. I know it was there and a few other persons have contacted me, but not like I hoped. I had promised to publish the photo here with what information I gathered not later than July 18, 2011. I still desire first hand knowledge. The photo is published here below through a link. The photo was taken February 7, 1968 and I have placed letters and numerals on all sides. If you have first hand information especially on AO on the depot please contact me with the "coordinates" and a short story of what, when, how, etc. I also welcome comments concerning the location o…

Berta, Help With Finding A 1151 Poa Or Vso
Hello Berta, I have just mailed my packet to Regional Office for the Section 1151(CLAIM) today certified mail. I followed your template that you had on the FTCA and Section 1151 section under Hadit helps. My problem is I do not have a VSO or POA for it. Attorneys are out because they can't get paid, that is unless I can make an agreement with one. If you or anyone else has some thoughts on this about obtaining a POA that is knowledgeable on Section 1151 I would like to know so as to try and keep this moving. Oh yes I am trying to get a second Cardio expert to help me with another Nexus so that I will have 2 of them and I can try and submit that one at a later date. This i…

Ihd And Chf--Same Package?
Wondering: I have 41% LVEF and 8.6 mets as of June 2010. Had below 50% LVEF since 1997 when I originally filed a claim for CAD which was denied. Currently in Nehmer since Nov 2010 for IHD. My cardiologist states I have chronic CHF. Should I be filing for CHF separately from IHD or is the CHF considered to be part of the IHD claim? Tks.

Nehmer Help Please
Is DMII considered a Nehmer case? I disagreed with the effective date of my DMII, and submitted a NOD. But, was told that this was not a Nehmer issue. Also, some one told me that the VA will only go back 5 years for Parkinsons, is that true? If so, why would the doctor ask me how long have I been shaking and having this problem. Wife told him since 1971. I don't expect to have an effective date of 1971, but it sure would be nice . Papa

Letter From Nvlsp
R'cd this email from NVLSP. These people really have it together. Thanks Berta for link to site so I could make contact with them. Dear Mr. Evans: On October 27, 2010, you emailed the National Veterans Legal Services Program (NVLSP) regarding your claim for VA benefits for ischemic heart disease (IHD). We informed you that we would review the VA's decision on that claim to ensure you are assigned the correct effective date for those benefits. VA recently sent NVLSP a copy of the decision and I have reviewed it. Based on the information you previously provided NVLSP and the VA's recitation of the facts in the decision, it appears that the VA assigned the corre…

Nehmer Survivor
Somewhere here I mentioned the Nehmer letter I received as a widow of AO vet. This requires a re opening of Letters of Administration or re opening of the Estate Account for the deceased veteran. Since Nehmer is Class Action the VA will ask you for this info as any retro payment they make under Nehmer to any survivor is an estate asset. I was able to handle this by mail with the Surrogate's office to re-open my Letters of Administration but I also needed my notarized signature on 2 documents to send with the info. When they asked for reason for L of A reopen- I referred them to an enclosed copy of the Nehmer letter from VA which I received. If you instead …

Won on a BVA appeal from the Department of Veterans Affairs Regional Office in Nashville, Tennessee. Decision date Mar 04 2011 . DOCKETT NO.09-16 193 Agent Orange claim was granted for diabetes II and residuals thereof. I not only won my own claim for AO exposure inside CONUS but then proceeded to work on another CONUS claim for a friend. The BVA decision was handed down on March 4, 2011. You can watch for its posting on the BVA website DOCKET NO. 09-16 193. Ao & Lung Cancer
I am trying to help a friend with his AO claim. He said he filed before but was denied. As near as I can tell the prior filing was for a rash on his hand. He did 4 or 5 tours in Vietnam. He is classified as a "brown water vet" as he was in the Navy stationed on the rivers. He was recently diagnosed and treated for lung cancer. A portion of his lung was removed and he began chemo treatments. He was unable to tolerate the chemo treatments and they were stopped. Here's what I'm trying to figure out for him. 1. As I understand it, there is no longer a 20 year time limit on AO claims for respiratory cancers. Correct? 2. If he was a smoker will this impact his clai…
