Just had BVA Hearing
After waiting 6 years I finally had my BVA Hearing. I think it went well, and it appears I will be granted service connection, even though the lady judge didn't say that outright. She did give indication she agrees with me that I have submitted the three elements of SC. Does anybody know what happens now? My VSO says it could be 5 or 6 months before I know anything. The judge asked me when I was diagnosed, and if I was 75. When I said yes, she said she was going to speed it up. I included residuals in my claim, and I don't know if she will grant them. I know judges have before. So I'm wondering what my rating will be. My VSO said to start contacting my doctors about gett…

Question about BVA appeal
Hi everyone, I had questions about my BVA appeal. I was denied my higher level review so I opted to keep moving forward with a BVA review. When filling out the appeal I selected the in-person or video conference option. VA.gov shows I am waiting for my video conference date. However I am local to Washington DC and would like to actually go in person in front of the judge. How do I go about selecting that option? Do they just look at where you are located and pick an appropriate option? During the process it never specifically asked if I wanted in-person or video. I appreciate any info anyone can provide. Thanks

VA and/or private doctor
I'm putting together a supplemental claim and I debating whether to work with a VA doctor and my private doctor for more evidence. My private doctor has agreed to fill out a new DBQ and write a nexus letter. Also I am scheduled to see a primary care doctor at the VA for other issues, and I'm not sure whether to bring these issues up with him while I'm there and see if he will support my side. I've heard this particular doctor is one of the more veteran friendly ones, but I also don't want to jeopardize my appeal by getting the VA any more involved before the disability is granted. Anyone have any thoughts or experience?

Advice requested...
This post is about seeking the best advice for my next step(s). I'll try to be as succinct as possible, however, we are talking about the VA compensation process. I received a BVA decision in December 2018, most appeals were denied, however, the important one’s, back increase (40%) and SC for migraine headaches, although zero percent, were granted and the BVA judge also stated: TDIU: VA treatment records have raised the issue of TDIU as part and parcel of the claims for increased rating; the Veteran has submitted several records indicating findings by VA that he is not employable at present due to his service-connected disabilities. This claim has not yet been…

Back pay timeframe after winning appeal?
Hello, Dec 5th I won 2 parts to my appeal and had 1 remanded. 1 of the disabilities awarded is tinnitus. On the VA.gov website it says that it should take 1 to 2 months for the new disability rating to be reflected. It's been over 2 months and nothing. I called the national number and they could only say it was at my RO (that was a month ago) , I contacted my VSO who didn't know anything either. How long does it normally take? I'm going to be out of work for 4 to 6 weeks because of surgery that I have next week. Thanks

Higher level review
I recently submitted a higher level review and was wondering if anyone has had good luck with them. My basis for doing higher level review was 2 sided. One, I was denied for no diagnosis, when both my doctor and a medical opinion the VA requested confirmed diagnosis and nexus. However, the C&P examiner did not agree with the diagnosis, but provided no supporting information. Second, I am at about 9-10 months waiting to for my C-file to properly put a supplemental claim together, so even if I get denied higher level, it buys me some more to time to develop a good supplemental claim with my doctors input. I am working on just some information the DAV was willing t…

Should I submit VAMC Problems list w/Chronic PTSD as evidence to DRO?
When I got diagnosed by the psychiatrist at my VAMC with PTSD he never put the PTSD into my problems list and only put the OCD into the VHA problems list. The psychiatrist told me he didn't need to put PTSD into my problems list, since he wasn't giving me medication for my PTSD, and PTSD is under my treatment assessment in his records. I no longer see that psychiatrist and have been seeing an outside psychologist who is still treating me for PTSD (with neurofeedback for the last 5 years). My VAMC PCP put Chronic PTSD in the VHA Problems List, from my outside Psychologist treatment notes, after I was not seeing the VAMC psychiatrist any longer. Right now the …

Timeline @ 5 years
It has taken five years, from the time I filed my initial claim, before my appeals are on the desk of a BVA judge. I am doing the AMA evidence submission docket(no hearing). I was awarded scheduler 100% in April 2019 under the Legacy appeals for a single condition. Opted into the AMA after a DRO awarded my 100% rating following our telephone conversation. VA.gov indicates it takes 1-2 months for a ruling after the BVA judge has an appeal in front of them. True, or false?
