Unknown Diagnose?
What is a Veteran to do when the VA D'r (4) of them can't come up with a Diagnoses? I have these 3 round circles on my lower back that itch very bad they been there over a year now, PCP prescribe topical creams they don't work, I've tried everything I know of research through Mayo Clinic, nothing but lime tic disease but that's been ruled out as well as other possibility's Finally PCP put in for me to Dermatology Clinic after a year & those Dr's can't give me a Diagnose either. Could this be some rare type of skin disease I ask one of the Specialist? he said he did not know, he called in two more Dermatology Specialist they did not know? A…

DRO Hearing
Hi Guys, I wan to thank you for all the help you have provided, it has been great for me! I have a question. I will try to make this brief, as possible. About three years ago, I felt the V.A. was "stonewalling" me on a couple of issues, my back and my lungs. I call the V.A line to MacDonald and Hinkley , and within a week, I was contacted by a RO from Phoenix, Az. She was handling my case, and just need completed DBQ's and Nexus letters, and any recent tests pertaining to my back and lungs. She said no C&P exam was necessary. I provided her all the documentation, and she said this was want she needed to finalize everything. I get a letter for a C& P exam…

Hypertensive vascular disease increase denied
Hi everyone, I have two questions: I`m receiving a 20% compensation for hypertensive vascular disease (1) Recently received another decision by the VA and am curious about the wording of the decision in the last paragraph. What We Decided We made the following decision(s)........ We reviewed the evidence received and determined your service-connected condition(s) hasn't`t/haven`t increased in severity sufficiently to warrant a higher evaluation." NOTE: If you wish to claim service connection for an eye condition as secondary to your hypertension, please submit a claim on a standard form." I was wondering if the rating was tryi…

Ebenefits vs. "Peggy"
I have read many posts that persons call "Peggy" for status updates, does "Peggy" give any additional information that cannot be found of ebenefits, or does "Peggy" just open ebenefits page and read what is on there? For example if a claim is sitting in PFD, will Peggy be able to give a reasonable estimate as to when the claim will move, or will Peggy just read from a script listing wait times? Also, is Peggy automated, or do we talk to a live person? TIA.

Bva Decision Not Followed By Ro
Hello Folks, Not a long time ago, I started a thread in this forum regarding a recent BVA favorable retropayment decision, but this decision subsquent awarding letter relayed by the Detroit Regional Office missed other important BVA adjudications, deliberations, and decisions regarding other claims pertaining and presented on the appeal: Detroit Regional Office simply missed or ignored the BVA decisions regarding the GERD and "Left Ankle" rating increases In order to address the clear-cut fact that some of the BVA decisions were amiss on the RO awarding letter, I sent few messages and to the Detroit Regional Office which simply went on without any response for ove…

Retro Pay
I filed a claim in July of last year. Va called October to schedule C&P. Unable to due to Out of state. SO, after going back and forth and VA resubmitting for C&P exam, I was able to do exam in Feb 2017. Denied in April. Put in for reconsideration, and with new C&P exam I from June, was upped 10% disability compensation. Ebenefits shows effective date July 1, 2017. Is there retro pay involved in this claim, or is it straight up July 2017 based off of ebenefits showing effective date July.

Had VBA Hearing Today (what to expect next)
Today I had my VBA Video Hearing........I brought in 5 DBQ's some for up grades and some for service connections. I had not been able to submit my DBQ's the last couple month on ebenefits due to some glitch in the system. and because I had an old attorney listed as my representative and the DAV would not help me since this old attorney was still listed in the system. So I was stuck on my own. But I was prepared. I brought the DBQ's to my hearing but they were not able to see them since, I could only reference them to him. The VBA Hearing guy told me to have the people at the office there submit them for me after my hearing. So I gave them to a guy at the main…

Waiting and waiting for DRO Review.
We have been waiting since June 2015 for a DRO and in the mean time I have sent additional evidence I have gotten. My question is will the DRO review it all or should I send a Waiver so we dont have to do a remand back. The C file on me is extensive, i cludes many Drs and hospital reports , testing etc. Recently I was called in for a Pulmonary Function Test, Labs, Blood Occult, Cardiology and a Renal Ultra Sound. As well we had to see audiology again and infectious disease. They did huge work ups. Long story short is I have elevated Light chains, lgG andlgM , no hep or any of the tb tests had anything. I had an indicator for a mysty mysenteric (Panniculitis) in Feb. and …

Possible mis-dx
I was diagnosed with Meiner's Syndrome by the VA several years ago. I filed a claim (i.e., secondary to a head wound I received in combat) but was denied because Meiner's Syndrome is defined as an affliction with an unknown etiology (i.e., since the etiology is unknown the claim was denied). I was sent to an ENT clinic outside the VA for a requested appointment last year. The physician who examed me informed me that, in her opinon, I did not have Meiner's Syndrome and that the symptoms that I am experiencing are caused by something other than Meiner's Syndrome. (i.e., vertigo, dizziness, nausea, etc). Do I have a case for appeal?

Claim closed, reopened for reconsideration - do I need to watch NOD date?
My claims were closed on 5 Jun. It was obvious that lot of evidence was completely overlooked so I did a letter to request reconsideration. The claims all opened back up the following week. Does this mean I do not need to worry about a NOD date at this time? In other words, if my claims are not decided by Jun 2018, will I need to file a NOD, or does getting the claim re-opened reset the NOD deadline to one year from the date they are closed out in the future? The new estimated completion dates are Jan - Aug 2018. Thanks, JustGettingStarted

So, here's where I am as of yesterday: Filed 6/16 Gulf War Vet (Gastro-intestinal disturbances, Short term memory loss, Bi-lateral arm/shoulder pain, sleep disturbances) Recieved 2 letters (same mailing, one acknowledging my filing an FDC claim/ one acknowledging I did not opt for FDC claim, but traditional) Called VA, they said "You did not file FDC, your claim is traditional) January 2017 scheduled for first C&P exam (Unaware of which contention it was for) immediately after C&P rated 30% for IBS - VSR added stool incontinence to my claim as a disability (deffered) * My C&P examiner was an 87 year old Iranian doctor who was a fa…

2006 Appeal Won (Back), R.O give wrong effective Date.
Hi All, IT's been a while since i posted but I need some help form the experts regarding a BVA decision. Here is a quick cliff notes version of my appeal for increase for back (IVDS) In December 2006, I put in a claim for an increase for my back which was rated at 20%. In December 2007, The VA denied my claim but revised the rating from low back strain, to Degenerative joint disease and radicular symptoms of the lower extremities. I then asked for a denovo review and was denied, so I decided to appeal to the BVA, in 2008. Fast forward to 2012 and I finally got a docket number, my claim sat for another four years until I had my hearing in June 2…
