ptsd No backpay or raise in recurring payments since appeal was won
I filed for disability within a year after getting out (got out in 09, filed in 2010 and was awarded in late 2011) and after a year or so i was awarded 50% for PTSD and 10% for my right knee. I was awarded backpay after the initial decision was won. I filed an appeal to fight the PTSD desicion, the appeal was filed in mid to late 2012. Now come end of 2016 they finally finished the process and raised my PTSD from 50% to 70% and my knee was kept at 10% (never appealed). My new rating is now 70% instead of the 60% that it was before. When I got the approval letter in the mail, it was showing my affective date as august of this year not in 2012 for some reason? So…

tdiu Under review
My appeal had been advanced on the docket since 2013. I received the BVA favorable decision for two of four conditions in August 2016 with an EED of 2009. The tdiu and migraines were remanded for further development. After contacting Under Secretary Bob in Oct 2016 I received an e-mail from the Office of Case Management stating they were assisting with my inquiry and would receive a SSOC discussing my 2009 appeal. I got a SSOC 5-7days mentioning tdiu and migraines were denied. I have yet to receive any retro payments. Every time I call the BVA status I get the same this same update "it's with the Judge …

How long after DRO hearing
I filed a claim for SC of a fractured hip that I incurred while I was in basic training in 2003. I got out in 2006 and have always had pain but have been ignorant to the process the majority of the time I was out. In 2011, I went to an ortho for pain in that same hip. The ortho said I have post traumatic arthritis, most likely form the fracture, and he recommended me filing a claim. I filed a claim in 2012 and submitted all the documents from my private physician and my STRs, both discuss the hip. I was initially shot down because my private physician gave me poor documentation. I filed an NOD and finally saw a DRO in June of 2016, with new, more in depth documentation in…

ptsd DRO Hearing to QTC Exam to Awards Letter
"I currently have an lawyer representing me and is very fimiliar with the VA system. I currently have DRO assigned to my case. I had a hearing with the DRO on (Aug 29, 2016). I had a QTC Exam for PTSD on (Nov 16, 2016) with the word "EXPEDITE" in Big Bold Red Letters." Now that the Exam is done, how long before you think I recieve any papers on the decision. Its Now Been Exactly 5 weeks. This the response I received. "No one can tell you how long the DRO will take, but based on your information about expediting it, a guestimate of within 3 weeks may be sound. Once the DRO makes the decision, internal preparation to prepare your paperwork, any retro pay (if you…

need to fix a claim
I goofed. There was a decision dated 27 April 2016 that had multiple contentions that should have went into the NOD. The NOD did not contain the core issues, thus the SOC read like a mongolian road map. The decision did not list critical, positive evidence which were two C&P exams dated 4 April 2015. Each exam suggested "Total" disability on two distinctly different anatomical body systems. I am vascillating between this world and the next. So Ol' unca Joe is movin kinna slow at the junction. SMC-S should have been in the NOD as well. I put all of these contentions (which should have been on appeal) on a 256ez instead of a NOD. Can I still put in another NOD listing …

NOD for Denial of payment of Emergency Room BIll
I just got a bill for 8k because the va denied paying the visit they actually gave me two reasons for denial because the bills were delegated one being the physicians bill and than the actual emergency room bill. The reason for denial of the 400.00 bill the physician was that it wasn't an emergency, the 8330 bill denial was because they said there was veteran services available at the time. I was actually told to go to the er because they couldn't see me at the local clinic. So how do I get or process this correctly I have no money to pay this kind of bill and it's going to ruin my credit. No one at fee basis will return my calls, called patient advocate, asked my doctor …

tdiu VARO wants more ROI authorization
This is my situation: But, the St Pete VARO sent me requests for more ROI authorization signatures. But I have already sent in my 5103. Do I still have to send in more ROI's? If so, I have no idea for what who or when to authorize them for. Another issue, is out of the blue, this C&P Contractor company QTC Medical Services Informed me yesterday that I will have 3 C&P Exams next week ( Dec 5,6th). Two of which are in Tampa. For someone who has serious issues with stress and anxiety, thats like getting hit with a ton of bricks. lol Seriously though, the ROI thing is bugging me, I don't know what info they are still looking for, and they wa…

Effective Award Date of Disability Compensation
I created a claim using eBenefits on July 20, 2015 which established the notice of intent to submit a claim. I have the email from the VA stating that I created the claim for disability compensation. I officially submitted the claim July 12, 2016 and also have the confirmation email from the VA to prove it. My claim was processed which increased my compensation amount. I had assumed that I would receive back pay from July 20, 2015 to the award date, however, when I spoke with the VA they informed me that I only received back pay to August 2016. I have no idea where the August date came from and when I requested additional information, I was told that I need to submit…

ptsd State Disability, TDIU, and Employability
Hello Everyone, I am a new user to HadIt but I have read many of your discussions in the past. It is nice to be here with my fellow vets. Before I ask a question let me give you a little background on my situation. I have been gainfully employed working in California since 2009. In 2010 I received a Service Connected Disability for Major Depressive Disorder including PTSD at 50%. I filed a claim for an increase in July 2015 and was denied in November 2015. I worked on my appeal until around March 2016 when my PTSD was just too much for me to bear with suicidal and homicidal ideation that I decided to check myself into the hospital. I completed my…
