ptsd Letter from Rep Recieved, I'm granted, now what?
On my Ebenefits account, it shows that my appeal was completed on 5/16/2016. Just a few days ago, I received a letter from my representative (DAV) that reads: "Service connection for post traumatic stress disorder claimed as anxiety and insomnia is granted with an evaluation of 50 percent effective March 9, 2013. Initially, I was denied because of a missed appointment, so I filed an NOD and was just scheduled for my C&P exam a few weeks ago. Within what seemed like no time, I saw that my appeal was complete and I received the letter from the DAV stating that I was granted PTSD and increased from 40 to 70 percent (I am at 40 for IBS and Tinnitus). My question is, d…

My Appeal in Atlanta
A little on my timeline. My original claim was filed in June 2010 upon exit of the Army. In July 2012 I got 30% for TB and everything else was denied. At the time I was in a really bad place and hired a lawyer. He submitted an NOD and almost a year later my appeal was canceled because the NOD was written incorrectly. Before the deadline he had another one on the way which was accepted. I chose a review with a DRO someone I could meet with face to face. That meeting came in September 2015. My lawyer wasn't notified and no letter was sent until after my hearing was already over. She my DRO Ms. Thomas seemed like a nice person. (I'm being treated at an outpatient patie…

How does retro pay work with previous awards
Hello good people. I was just curious to know how retro pay would work in this situation? Of course this is something that could happen to me since I have a pending appeal, but I thought it would be a good question for those in a similar situation. Scenario: Awarded 30% in 11/2008 Initial appeal is dated back to 6/2009 Appeal was not worked on for years. Awarded for new claims in 2011 & 2014 that increased my rating to 40% If my appeal is awarded 10%(or so) higher and retro-pay is dated back to the 2009 date, do any of you know how they calculate retro pay with periods of increased ratings? Thanks Jfizzle

Feeling Hopeless - this can't be right.
Dear Veterans, I just received another denial letter from the VA for my Left Knee and Sleep Apnea service connection. I'm currently working with a VA Claims Specialist in Long Island, New York to help me with the claims process. He has told me we will have to file a Notice of Disagreement / De Novo Review for the Left Knee and Sleep Apnea. He also advised me this process could take up to 1-2 years. This is unfortunate and I want to make sure the VA has everything they need to give me the proper decision. I've attached pictures of my original claims from July 2013, and the decisions I've received for Sleep Apnea and my Left Knee condition in May 2016. …

VSO
I've been appealing my claim since 2010 and now ebenefits shows it's with my VSO ( DAV) since 1/2016. At first I couldn't get a return call from the regional office so I emailed the HQ office. So I received a call from the regional telling me that she couldn't give a timetable of when my appeal might be sent back to the board. This appeal has been one thing after another. I never received the decision packets that ebenefits shows were sent as each step of the appeal being completed, so I filed a FOI for them still no packets ebenefits shows that my request as overdue of being filled. I want to file another claim but I'm wondering if that claim would be slowed u…

tdiu One of 11 Items remanded to AMC
I received a notification through the form of a SSOC that one of eleven items that I appealed to the BVA for increase has been remanded to AMC. The remaining ten issues were sent to the RO and are currently in the preparation for notification stage. I was informed that the ten items have already been reviewed and all actions have been approved. The claim is now with the RO as he/she completes the writing the notification letter that should be completed soon (no approximate date has been assigned). I have a few questions in regards to this appeal. 1. I have 10 requests for increase that were not sent to remand. Does this mean that these remaining items were a…

ptsd NOD - VA Form 9
Hi All, I am a veteran that served for over seven years active duty in the ARMY. From FEB 1992-OCT 1999. I am hoping someone can help me further with my NOD process. Here is a bit of history in dealing with VA. I currently have a combined rating of 40 percent for Retropatellar pain sydrome of both knees, tendonitis status post-surgical of first dorsal compartment of left wrist and tendonitis right wrist (major). I had filed for an increase for several conditions (over 17) for which I was denied back on August 2012. So after speaking to a rep at a VA hospital I go to, I filed a NOD. In my NOD I listed all the conditions currently plaguing me. They range fro…
