Hello, I have a request. I would like to research all of the cases where the board of veterans appeals approved or denied SMC tea benefits. Apparently I have not been typing in the correct search results because I haven't found a whole lot of information. If someone has been able to find more information could you please post a link with some better results?

I am trying to find out more information about SMC T. I have read the PDF by the order of the Purple Heart and found several other web pages that had information on it. Fom what I understand I need a TBI and I need Aid & Attendance. I also remember it saying something about not being eligible for any other SMC code. I am also about to apply for SMC s. If I was granted SMC s, would this make me eligible for SMC t? I am currently rated at 90%/100% TDIU Among other disabilities I have; 70% PTSD/anxiety/major depression, and I also have a TBI rating of 70%. Does this seem like enough of a rating to get me to the SMC T level if I'm approved for …

Hello and TYIA for any responses and for reading my long post. BLUF: I would appreciate some insight or just plain ol speculatin on why the VA raters would submit me for a lumbar strain increase (that I didn’t submit for) while working on my current claim? Also, are secondary conditions disqualified in the 60% calculation for SMC Housebound? I know it says the 60% must be separate from the 100% condition, but how does this work if I’m on IU, with secondary conditions? I’m probably overthinking at 4am but why would they submit me for an increase for a condition when I didn’t ask them, and the increase has no bearing on the final rating due to VA math, unless it …

If your rated TDIU 100% no further exams and claims that are in appeal get finished and then makes you 100% Scheduler what happens to your TDIU?? Will you still have the status of no more exams? if a condition gets better does it resort back to TDIU automatically if none of your TDIU conditions get better? Can anyone explain this? Also When are people that are TDIU suppose to receive the annual form to fill out??

I am looking into how to make my S to an L. Just recently I was given 100% rating for a combined TBI/PTSD and if you sum up all my other disabilities it comes out to 70%. How or what are the requirements to make this transition? I"m sure the RO will overlook anything they can just like my denial for the caregiver program for my wife because I was on 100% IU for my TBI rated at 70%. Which I believe now I may question there motive as I look into myhealthnet record and it also has changed from 90 to 100% P and T

I saw here recently someone stated that A & A is only awarded for vets on a wartime pension….but now cannot find that post…. Aid and attendance is available for SC vets as well. And even for some of their spouses/ surviving spouses. The link from Hill and Ponton here on the main hadit page explains it: https://www.hadit.com/aid-attendance-smc-benefits-beyond-100-hill-ponton/ The criteria from the link is : “One of the most common types of SMC benefits is aid and attendance (A&A). A&A benefits can be awarded to veterans needing daily assistance in reference to the following: · Inability to dress/undress · Inability…

Hi everyone. I have a question about SMC S and K. I am 100% P&T. Am I entitled to SMC-S? I have the following ratings: major depressive disorder recurrent 70% obstructive sleep apnea 50% benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) 40% scar anterior neck status post tracheostomy 30% sciatica, right lower extremity 40% sciatica, left lower extremity 20% deviated septum status septoplasty and bilateral turbinate reduction 10% (replaced by next line?) allergic rhinitis with deviated septum status septoplasty and bilateral turbinate reduction (previously rated under DC6502) 10% sinusitis 10% (secondary to above) gas…

I wanted to inquire about the process for my wife becoming a caregiver. She had her phone interview today that lasted about an hour, and I guess we will be waiting for a response via mail on the determination if we qualified or not. I was wanted to know is this a normal thing for the guys that have already been down this road. To my understanding I thought she would be told today if she was accepted or not, but I guess it doesn't work the way I thought. Thanks in advance for your help. Semper Fi

Does anyone know if there is a SMC sub-category for two separate 100% ratings. I am aware of SMC-S for 100% plus 60%. Is there a SMC category/rating for 100% plus 100% single independent ratings ?

2004 SMC CUE award back to 1976: https://www.va.gov/vetapp04/files3/0423933.txt ( only 10% -loss of creative organ) but 10% retro for 28 YEARS is a nice chuck of change. This almost tops my favorite CUE claim ( except all my winners) which is Myler V Derwinski. We have had other beautys here too.

I've been 100% P&T with 70% PTSD since 2010 and I'm wondering if I qualify for any type of SMC. My total rating if I add everything up is 240%, but I know it's not calculated by just taking everything and adding them up. It doesn't speak to SMC in my award letter or rating decision either, which is why I'm asking this question. Thank you
