Stumbled across this section of Hadit without knowing what it was. I knew nothing about the SMC stuff and now reading I think I might qualify for it. I am in the process of submitting for TDIU. It all started with gathering paperwork for long term disability. The insurance company gave me paperwork for the doctors to fill out. After four of the VA doctors filled them out they all gave the same assessments. Take into consideration each one of the four doctors knows my case and has been working with me for a few years. So they know my conditions very well. For the Long Term Disability paperwork functional assessment they all checked block 5 Severe limitation; incapa…

I am currently rated at 100% P&T back dated to 2010. My wife receives tier 3 caretaker. I am not sure if there is a difference, but if there is what is the next step in applying for aid and attendance? will they back date my pay to 2010? Are they going to try to find me incompetent?

Hello veterans! This is my first time actually asking a question on this forum, but I've looked through this forum previously. First and foremost I would like to thank all of my sisters and brothers who served....thank you for your service. I'm currently rated 100% P&T SMC S and I would like to see if I'm rated correctly. I do have a C&P coming up next month for asthma. When I was initially rated in 2005, I rarely had to take any medication for asthma. Over the last few years it's gotten worse to where now I'm on Dulera, turdoza inhalers and two two nasal sprays. I've been on steroids at least 4 times since December. It's gotten so bad I had to call 911 becau…

Hi all, Well I received a copy of my C file yesterday. It only took two weeks! My last rating decision that I received was 4/25/2003. It was when I requested to be made P&t. It was approved with an effective date of 9/24/2002. That is when my daughter became eligible for Chap 35. I am assuming you have to be p&t to get SMC S. Before that decision and before I was granted P&t I was granted tdiu because of my bipolar 70%, but I also had additional ratings of sleep disorder 50%, ddd of Cspine 20%, and hypothyroidism 10%. That decision was on 8/20/2002, all effective back to 11/15/2001. So my questions, do you have to be P&t before you can get SMC…

I got awarded 100% P&T back in December of last year. I never applied for smc but from what I am hearing is that it should have been given considering my situation. Where can I get clarification or info on whether I was entitled to it. Thanks in Advance.

I sent an email the 21st of April to the Under Secretary Ms. Hickey and the same email to the VA Secretary. Today I recieved an email back from "Bob" saying he has forwarded my inquiry to VA leadership for review and direct feedback to me. That is probably just a generic response so I will see how that goes. Still have not recieved an email back from Ms. Hickey as of yet. So I am still getting my NOD together to send out so I do not miss that 1 year deadline. It sure would be nice if my issue got solved before I have to go down the appeal road. Jeff

Just recieved a copy of 21-526b submitted by VSO for my suprapubic cystotomy performed last September. He put on the form I was asking for 100% for that according to DC 7516. So I guess I shall see where that puts me, my VSO said I should go from M + 2k to M1/2 + 2k. Below is what I have now after my last decision. Does that sound right or should it be higher than just a half bump on the M rating? The neurogenic bladder will be taking out of this equation and replaced with the 100% suprapubic cytotomy under voiding dysfunction that is the way I take it am I right? loss of use of right arm due to multiple sclerosis 70% S…
