Vr&e Vs. Post 9/11
I want to share my experience with VR&E and Post 9/11. I did both. Post 9/11 is a good program but compared to VR&E, there is extra benefits that VR&E has which P-911 doesnt. VR&E is a great program program which would be excellent if the counselors knew what communication meant. Remember this is my experience. For the most part the program itself is hassle free. HOWEVER, the biggest hassle is usually the counselors. Shouldnt be that way but that's just the way it is. Their biggest problem is communication or leaving you stranded. At least in my experience. I have noticed a good way to get them to improve their communication. Go get your VSO involved. Ques…

Voc Rehad Help
Hello all, I have a few question that I am trying to find the answer to. Here goes, I am currently awaiting for my initial disability claim to be processed, started 1 jun 2012. Currently in gathering information stage on Ebenifits. While i am waiting i requested an memo of rating so that I may sign up for Voc Rehab. Upon looking at my ebenifits i noticed that a memo of rating has been done. I havent recieved a copy of this memo though. My question is, if this memo has been done can I request a copy of it? The reason why I am asking this is that I need to know what my rating is so that I can put it on the VA FORM 28-1900. My second question is that my RO is located in S…

Self Employment Track With Vocational Rehab
I was approved for the Vocational Rehabalitation Self employment track to become a Self Employed CPA (Public Accountant), WIth the Self employement track I've chosen, I have to first study and take my CPA exam; Does this count as Home study for schooling, so I would get the home study stipend? Also, I have to go in and sign paper tomorrow, do I have to sign a contract? WHat happens if I fail at my business? Another Issue I have is when I was waiting on my 40% rating I did not know about the Vocational Rehab program. While not knowing about the program, I went to get my MBA due to needing it for my CPA. I did this knowing that I would have to become self employed …

Voc Rehab Question
Hi all, I have a few questions in regards to Voc Rehab. I am looking to try and apply for voc rehab once my claim is finished being processed. 1. Is it more benificial to do voc rehad or to do post 9/11? 2. If you do voc rehad can you still do post 9/11 after you complete the voc rehab program? 3. I understand that while under the voc rehab program that you are intitled to a monthly stipen, I have heard that their is a new law stating that you can use the post 9/11 stipen amount for your voc rehab stipen, is that true? 4. Also, I have been told that you have to sign up for what ever educational plan the voc counsler choose for you to go into? If so do they ha…

What Happens After You Complete Vr&e
Just wanted to know after you complete the Education part of VR&E what happens next? I know they try to find you employment. How does this work? Do they continue to pay subsistence allowance until they find you a job? As far as a job, is it a "real" job. Meaning, you didn't just work your tail off in college to get a mediocre job. Does anyone know how this works? I am doing a business admin degree with concentrations in international business.

Question About Compensation And Voc Rehab?
I'm currently rated at 80%, majority being 70% for bipolar disorder. I'm listed as having a serious employment handicap, and have been enrolled in VR&E for far too long. Last week, I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. Now, I have nothing that ties military life to RA, but... I found this small blurb here: http://www.benefits.gov/benefits/benefit-details/289 Compensation may also be paid to certain veterans who were disabled from VA health care or while participating in our Vocational Rehabilitation program. What I can't find in any search on Google is... how do they determine "certain" veterans? Because I was struggling to see myself working befo…

Vocational Rehab + Chapt 33 + Chapt 30
Hello Folks: I have a rather confusing and unsual situation and I have some questions that would need some clarification. I am disabled veteran, entered the military on 01/2004 and left around 08/2004 due to serious injury and subsequent disability (as of now I am rated 80% disabled by the VA for multiple disabilities). At first, when I left the military, the Post 9/11 Gi Bill simply did not exist, and based on the regulations back then I would only be entitled to 6 months of Montegomery GI Bill since I had only contributed for 6 months (even though I was discharged in function of a disability). Back then I enrolled in the Chapter 31 (Vocactional and Rehabilitation) i…

Got the queen sized sleep number today. Looks small compared to my old king size. It is adjustable on each side but both sides go up or down, not by theirself. Also got the new desktop yesterday to replace this old one. Don't have it hooked up yet-----Just not ready to tackle it in this frame of mind yet.

tdiu Counselor And Tdiu Referral....
I have always kept my Vocational Rehab Counselor informed of everything, appoints, doctors notes and whatever else...I sent her my IMO just to read and give me an opinion on the IMO. Well she sends me an email Friday stating that she feels I cannot return back to work. Again today she asked me when I filed for IU and I told her in May. From the looks of things it seems she is going to write up a referral to the RO office for me to be placed on IU. She has asked me if I can go back to work and I told her I really don't know because of the issues with my lower back now. I told her I couldn't answer that question. Anyway I hope her referral holds weight for my IU claim if…

Voc Rehab Counselors....
If there is one person who has the greatest Voc Rehab Counselor it has to be me. I had some issues with student loans and a pell grant that was applied to my tuition, which by the way was all straightened out after I talked with an Associated Director of FA at the college because veterans who fall understand the Voc Rehab should not have these grants and loans applied to tuition if they are under Voc Rehab because the VA guarantees payment. So, she emailed the school to find out why because she believes they shouldn't do this and she blind copied me everything. Anyway, she sends me an email saying "Since this was causing some trouble she afforded to have the VA pay for my …
