First Meeting Horrible. Any Advice?
You should ask for a meeting. Are you looking for Voc Rehab to send you to Law School. If so it has been done before. If you get turned down you only have 30 days to appeal.

ptsd Help-Voc Rehab Orientation
Went to Voc Rehab Orientation today and was told by counselor that he wants me to work at GoodWill for 60 days for a work evaluation. Why would he offer me this? I told him that I needed to work from home due to my PTSD. I have major anxiety, and depression and this will be difficult for me to accomplish. Anyone ever heard of a counselor offering something like this? I believe he is a new counselor as well.

Independent Living Program
Always be prepared for your VR&E win. In my case, it's been advanced on the docket at the BVA and is ripe for a decision within a month. Thus, I contacted Farmtek's ILP coordinator and asked for a "bare bones" greenhouse suitable for the NW and cold weather. Since VA has $180,000.00 available for each and every one of the 2,700 annual applicants who pass the audition. it behooves one to have it all compiled so as not to appear like an FNG chucklehead when contacted after the win. I do hope VR&E Director Jack Kammerer has a high-limit credit card because Farmtek is a FOB kind of outfit where VA is concerned. VA tried the slow pay technique several times and now th…

Retro Active Voc Rehab
Thanks in advance for any advice! My question: I was recently given a 40% rating for degenerative disc diease in lower back with sciatica in both legs after a simple shoe tying incident lead to the discovery of 3 bulging discs and degenerative disc diease. Prior to my SC rating, I had completed a masters degree and I want to know if this would be covered under voc rehab based the background below: Background: My job prior to completing my masters degree involved lots of heavy lifting and physical field labor. I love the industry I work in and managerial positions are generally held by those with many years of experience and/or a masters degree. After experie…

ptsd What Can I Expect? Voc. Rehab Appt Upcoming In Montana
Hi there everyone. This is my first post, and I am so, so glad I found this forum! Honestly, I'm just glad to have found other veterans to speak to. I've only been discharged for 7 months now, but I really miss the feelings of comradery that I felt while being in the CG and being surrounded by other active duty people. I have since moved back home to Canada, and my return has felt so much less like a return home and more like learning a whole new world of rules. (Civilian life, medical care...despite being "free" up here has been really hard to come by, and basic things like car insurance really throw me through a loop with my mental state.) On that note, I am expecti…

ptsd Vic Rehab
I'm not that up on VA Voc Rehab, but will ask a few questions. Have a Vietnam veteran who served in combat as a Marine, is 67 years old, and has been denied IU on two occasions. He received his second denial for IU based on an evaluation by Voc Rehab, done completely on record. In his decision it stated, he could work as a cab driver, Dominoes Pizza delivery man, a Limo driver, etc. This veteran never sat face-to-face with a Voc Rehab counselor to complete an evaluation. I'm wanting to know is this proper, and does age play a role in Voc Rehab decisions. This veteran is 50% PTSD, DMII, PN in 4 extremities, and tinnitus. He meets the rating requirements for IU. I rea…

ptsd Stress Out With Vocational Rehabilitation
I been having a hard time dealing with Vocational rehabilitation program and hoping to get help some other veterans. I'm 100% disability for PTSD. I had a lot of guilt and problems coming home from oversea lead me to being medically discharged from the army. I loved being in the military and serving my country. It eats at me being home doing nothing and collecting disability. I feel so many other veterans are far worse then me but are not getting the help or support they need. I spent the last couple years using my gi bill to go to college and get a bachelor's degree of science with a 3.4 GPA. I been job hunting on my own but been unsuccessful. I apply for the voca…
