Just got my son's ChampVA card in the mail. It says limited dental coverage. Is there a way to get dental coverage? He does have 3 cavities and may need braces in the future. Thank you for any help.

CHAMPVA no reply?
What is the recourse if no reply after more than 120 days from the CHAMPVA application? The problem may be because my wife's Japanese National Health Insurance which is first pay when she is in Japan but last pay when out of country. She can claim copays for up to two years when she is in Japan. Her Japanese Health Insurance also covers Dental and Drugs. For Dental she can pay for a trip to Japan for anything more than cleaning by getting it done in Japan. She is diabetic so here Part D copays are huge on drugs. Pays her to return to Japan for a claim every two years.

CHAMPVA supplements
I am just wondering if any of you that have CHAMPVA are using any supplements other than Medicare/Medicaid? I had Selman through AMRA but now AMRA is shutting down the only way you could get it was through them.

Tricare New Changes cost WAY MORE!!
Hey folks...I wasn’t sure where to put this, so here goes. I guess this year, Tricare made some changes. My total pay out is now $3,000.00 before Tricare Insurance starts to kick in. I am 100% P&T but don’t live close to a VA facility; plus, I have my daughter (16) and wife on my insurance. These amounts are piling up!!! I called Tricare and they said it doesn’t matter if I am 100% P&T. Can anyone provide me with some advice. I’ve got all the Tricare numbers/website, but is there something I am missing being 100% P&T that I am overlooking that could offset these mounting bills??? Many thanks!! Grumpbox

Retirees NOT eligible for ChampVA
@Tbird Ms. Tbird - this morning I personally spoke with, Mr. Glenn Johnson from the VA. He is an expert in the arena of ChampVA, and I believe the ChampVa PAO. I thought you might want to add this information I learned from him, but I was unsure where you'd prefer to have it listed. Recently, I became 100% P&T. As we all know, one of the many benefits with being 100% is the ChampVa. However, there is a catch to this that Mr. Johnson brought to my attention. ChampVa is NOT available to Retirees, per Mr. Johnson. You see, ChampVa nor the VA could give me a concrete answer for my situation. The VA kept saying I was eligible; however, ChampVa personnel w…

Medications while on extended vacation
I am going to call them tomorrow and figure the answer is going to be to use OptumRx at a regular pharmacy but that in itself will be a PIA as it will require carrying copies of all of the wife's prescriptions. Has anyone had any experience with this? Will they send the meds to another address we will be visiting family along the way. Just wanting some honest answers before talking to them. Sure would be easier if we could just order and pick up at closest VA facility.
