Got a knee replaced and the VA is only giving a temp 100% for 2.5 months then down to 10%
VA screwed up as usual, I got a knee replaced and the VA is only giving a temp 100% for 2.5 months then down to 10%. I have an appointment with a VA rep Monday, I wonder how long it will take to straighten this out.

ptsd Family Caregiver Program Eligibility For Ptsd Rated Sc Veteran Post 9/11
I am only providing the information that show that a veteran with SC (Rated and Service Connected) PTSD could be eligible for the new Caregiver program that just started in May 2011. Others may be eligible and there is a lot more info out there! Hope this helps, I wanted to figure this out before applying with the wife. Here's the link to where I found the info: VA-2011-VHA-0012-0001.pdf (EDIT-since I posted this, the VA has moved the information that was attached to this link, and I have yet to find it elsewhere) Before I go further, I must say this. Although I am thankful for this benefit...I do find it backwards and unfortunate to not take care of the previous ge…

Secondary conditions
Greetings all! I am rated at 100% P&T. I totally understand I will not increase my percentage nor va comp pay. I will focus on one issue…Chronic Pain, and Depression, secondary to residual pain from 4 knee replacements , and lower back issues. Both are service related and part of my current 100%. The related pain, limited function of my body ad a whole, has effected me so much, I am almost a total recluse. Limited driving, setting, standing…you know the drill. As a result, I have been treated for severe depression. I am maxed out on depression medications. Has anyone had positive VA secondary connection to an existing rated condition, and did you get rated. Thanks….an…

DENIAL FOR TINNITUS
I WAS DENIED FOR TINNITUS 3 YRS AGO BUT WAS APPROVED FOR HEARING AIDS. THE REASON IS THAT LENGTH OF TIME FROM BEING DISCHARGED HAS BEEN TOO LONG TO HAVE TINNITUS AT MY AGE OF 74. i WAS STATIONED IN A 5 INCH GUN MOUNT FOR GENERAL QUARTERS AND IT WAS EXTREMELY LOUD WITHOUT HEARING PROTECTION. i HAVE BEEN SPEAKING TO PROFESSORS THRU EMAIL AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT DELAYED ONSET OF TINNITUS IS POSSIBLE. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY THOUGHTS ON THIS.

Just a couple of questions...
If the VA decision letter states a veteran has one year to appeal, and before the year is expired the VA closes his appeal then what recourse would the veteran have. What You Should Do If You Disagree With Our Decision If you do not agree with our decision, please download and complete VA Form 21-0958, “Notice of Disagreement”. You can download the form at http://www.va.gov/vaforms or you can call us at 1-800-827-1000. You have one year from the date of this letter to appeal the decision. The enclosed VA Form 4107, “Your Rights to Appeal Our Decision,” explains your right to appeal. A veteran files a claim for an injury to his [L] foot, and his [R] …

DENIAL FOR TINNITUS
i FILED BACK IN NOVEMBER OF 2020 AND WAS DENIED FOR TINNITUS BECAUSE THEY SAY IT HAS BEEN TOO LONG AGO THAT I WAS EXPOSED TO LOUD NOISE TO CLAIM TINNITUS. i WAS IN THE NAVY EARLY 70'S. SINCE THE DENIAL I RECEIVED A FEW BUDDY LETTERS, EMAILS FROM PROFESSORS i FOUND ON LINE THAT CONCUR THAT THERE IS SUCH A THING AS DELAYED ONSET OF TINNITUS. i ALSO FOUND THE SHIP LOGS STATING OUR SHIP WAS AT GENERAL QUARTERS SHOOTING THE 5 IN 38 CAL GUNS. WHAT I DONT UNDERSTAND IS THE VA GAVE ME A HEARING TEST BECAUSE OF THE TINNITUS AND AWARDED ME HEARING AIDS BUT DENIED ME FOR TINNITUS. SHOULD I PURSUE THIS CLAIM EVEN THOUGH ITS BEEN LONGER THAN A YEAR?

Claim medical opinion wait time
Morning all! How long is normal time to wait for medical opinion on claim? When I ask for status of claim, that is answer I’ve gotten. They are waiting on medical opinion from last April. ”There is no timeframe as to when this evidence should be received.”

Should I file PACT Act, Depressed Mood, Coronary Artery Disease, Spine/Neck
Since 2015 when I retired I've been 80% which includes 60% Chronic Fatigue, 30% Insomnia, 10% Hemorrhoids. My VA psychiatrist (who happens to also be the Hospital Chief of Staff) has strongly advised me multiple times to file for a service connection under the PACT Act. I've strongly disagreed with him since I do not see a PACT Act connection (other than possibly using DEET and as supply troop regularly disposing of toxic substances - none identified in the PACT Act). He, my psychiatrist has told me that it would likely get approved and I should say that toxin exposure has exacerbated my behavioral health issues. I do not feel comfortable filing under the PACT Act ho…

How do I file for chronic multisymptom illnes?
I’ve done a bit of research and see that’s chronic multi symptom illness is a presumptive condition that the VA recognizes now. I have never seen a physician classify specific items into that group however, I have many of the issues that are considered presumptive under that umbrella. How would I file for chronic multisymptom illness. Would I use that as the title and then provide documentation showing my myriad of issues that fall under the umbrella of presumptive service connection?

Need you opinion on this outcome. Should I be worried?
VA lawyer opened High Level Review for backpay I should have gotten for years of denials without my permission. I was angry but decided to let it ride. Originally was denied from 2019 to 2022 then got 100% P&T on those denied claims with enough rating to qualify for SMC-S (170%) but didn't get it for some unknown reason. I decided not to "Poke the Bear" because I was more than happy where I was at. Fast forward to a couple days ago and noticed decision was made. Turns out they noticed their error and bumped me to SMC-S with $8000 in backpay. Then looked again and it changed to "Duty to Assist" "We failed to get federal records. We will develop for VAMC …
