Do I have to keep seeing my therapist?
I am 65 years old and have been 100% P&T SC PTSD for 7 years. With all of this Covid stuff, I haven’t seen my therapist for several months. I’ve decided to not see him for the next few months & I wonder if I am in danger of losing my benefits if I stop going to my therapist for a while or if I stop altogether. Thoughts?

PTSD and/or TDIU?
Hello all, I'm hoping to get some advice from members in this forum that may have been in my shoes, or knows someone who has been. I have been retired 22 years now after 20 years of service. I currently have a VA rating of 70% for back issues and headaches. The 70% rating breaks down to 40% for lower back, 20% for upper, and 10% for headaches. It's been nearly 20 years since I've been back to the VA for a rating increase. My lower back is worse now, and about 6 years ago I ruptured a disk. I also lost my job this past October because my back issues limit my mobility so much. I plan on going back to the VA around October of this year to try for an increase. I…

PTSD Denied with a Not Service Connected but PTSD - Combat related description
I am currently at a 90% rating and have been fighting the appeal status for a PTSD rating for the last few years. I just saw that my Higher Level Review was closed yesterday with no change to my E-Benefits. What I am struggling with is that they have PTSD described in my disabilities and classify it as "Not service Related" but the "Related to" section it shows PTSD-Combat. How can I have PTSD from COMBAT that came from incidents that happened while I was in COMBAT but its NOT service related!!!! I have over 500 pages from my VA Psychologist showing that I have PTSD and they still denied it. I haven't received my letter from the HLR to see what the appeal has stated …

Can you get a 100% P&T PTSD rating and not have work impairment
If you have dominantly social impairment from PTSD and there is enough evidence of this and this has worsened, can this alone get you to 100% P&T from 70%. Do you also have to demonstrate work impairment? I'm asking how the VA views 'total impairment.' Do you have to have both social and work impairment or can social impairment suffice? Do they look at how long you have been previously rated in making their decision? I am waiting for a decision letter for a PTSD increase claim that closed last week. The claim includes my private therapist's nexus letter and DBQ where he specifies language of "more likely than not to be permanent in nature". He also provided a …

VA IG on PTSD claim screw ups
PTSD vets need to read this- if they have a claim in process or have already been denied. I think many denials might hold a valid CUE....... because of this report and 38 CFR 4.6. In part: "Claims processors did not request or verify the in-service stressor in an estimated 14,600 of the 18,300 claims. · Claims processors did not obtain a medical examination, medical opinion, or clarification of examination inconsistencies in the remaining estimated 3,800 claims."7 and "The OIG estimated that 6,300 of the 18,300 improperly processed claims resulted in errors affecting benefits, totaling improper payments of $90.6 million to…

Is My Lawyer Getting Greedy?
Hello all. This is my first post on here. Looking forward to learning as much as I can from all of you and sharing my experiences. I was recently awarded 100% disability with SMC-S. I believe my lawyer wasn't satisfied with the outcome because the claim did not have any back pay. Meaning there was no payment to them. I understand that. Everyone wants to get paid for their work. It took 2 years of work and they received no payment. They filed for a HLR to raise my PTSD rating from a previously denied decision almost 3 years ago. I was rated 50% 3 years ago for PTSD and they're trying to argue that it should have been 70% so my rating would have been 100% over…

Worth filing a claim
Evening everyone. I'd like to get an opinion from some of you. Without going into detail I've been seeing a VA mental health physician over the past few months about an issue I have that causes depression for me. Today I dropped on him an issue of a coworker while on AD that committed suicide in the building we worked in one day. I explained to him all my thought's on it and how it's affected me over the years. This happened in 1998 so obviously I've kept it all to myself for a very long time. I had a close friend of mine commit suicide about three years ago that I think kidna compounded my thoughts on this event from 1998. Without giving deep details on this do yo…

PTSD due to MST claim
I am filing a supplemental claim this week and have had absolutely no help from my VA whatsoever in 3 years, and have can not find a VSO that has experience with a claim like mine so was looking for help. A little background.... Originally filed 2017.... denied.. reviewed due to mishandling by the VA and subsequently denied again for "no new or relevant evidence" (even though it was reopened by the VA, not appealed by me, and the burden of producing any new evidence was not mine because it was a review) Within my Cfile the review officers found errors, just small ones like overlooking evidence, not giving me a c and p exam, and they wrote in there if they had not c…
